The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in dramatic changes to the way we travel. If you plan to visit Texada Island, these tips will help you navigate these new traveling challenges:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as taking a COVID-19 test.
• You're required to wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Instead, you should position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for scanning.
• To minimize handling during screening, place items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
