Place was exactly what we expected and we were happy with it. An affordable rate in an expensive town without many expectations for high quality of the accommodation.

Can you be sure that you understand the sense?
Only 2 burners on four burner stove even worked. Commode would not even flush--chain off and mechanism loose. Patio door had been previously kicked in. You could see the former damage. Air conditioner thermostat did not work effectively. It never got cool. Security chain on entry door was missing. Knobs on stove were unreadable--they were worn off. Entire place is in need of immediate maintenance attention. We will NEVER stay there again. It was that disappointing.
Nice size condo and could fit 5 or 6 people but the queen beds were so saggy in unit 204

Great Location, A Bit Dated
The Viking Lodge is in an excellent location. We stayed for 2 nights and once we parked our car we never hopped back in for the duration of our stay. We could walk to get groceries, to restaurants, and to great hiking trails. The town has a free gondola connecting to the Mountain Village so we took that a couple times. The lodge itself had a comfortable enough bed and a small kitchen area. Our only complaints were that the room was outdated - it had a very tiny bathroom and some blinds were missing from one of the windows - and no air conditioner. Nights were cool, but when we first went to bed it was rather hot for our late June trip. Given the price and location, I would stay here again.
Nice location, nice facility, easy to walk to everything. This was a Condo, not a hotel, so it was not clear in the booking or confirmation process that I need to call another number to receive check in info. After calling a couple of numbers I was able to figure this out, but shouldn't have to. I separate confirmation from Viking Lodge should have been sent immediately to clarify this.
We felt like it was our our own apartment for a few days. Lots of space and well located.

Parking and Bike Racks
We enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed for our family with young kids. Great location next to the river trail, and convenient access to the gondola. Heated pool was closed for the season for our visit in early October. Hot tub was only open from 4pm-8pm. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Need more parking spaces. 2. Need more bicycle parking. 3. I had to go to a different hotel to find out how to check in. No one answered the hotel number, and there is no lobby with staff at the counter. Eventually found check-in location up on the main street a few blocks away.
We had a difficult time getting into our condo because we didn't fully understand that we needed to go to another location to check-in. Once we figured out where to go and got our key we found a paper with the lock box combinations to about 100 other condos in the area that someone had left outside our unit, it included ours.
Overall, the rooms were fine and I would stay again. However, we had two different rooms (two families). It would be helpful if the rooms were either decorated the same, or it was more descriptive. One room had a king bed, and the pull-out couch was awful. My kids slept on the floor rather than on the pull-out bed. The other room had a murphy bed as the "main bed" and the guy was 6'3", 250 pounds...it was more like a full-sized bed. He and his wife barely fit on the bed (not that I suggested switching - i enjoyed my king-sized bed).

Nice room, not so nice beds.
The room itself was fine, the queen bed and sofa sleeper were not so nice. The queen bed had an old mattress and the sofa sleepers mattress was a joke. The pool and hot tub were filthy, filthy and disgusting. We didn't use them because of this. The location is great and the room itself is fine, it was clean. I doubt we would stay here again.
iT WAS A VERY ENJOYABLE VACATION. tHE WIFE AND i HAVE TALKED ABOUT GOING TO THIS LOCATION FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND WE TOOK THE TIME OUT TO FINALLY GO. GREAT TRIP

SWELL!!!!!!!!
We were told that the swimming pool would be open unfortunately it was not! It was confusing to check in, no Lobby. The room was suitable. There was a hole in one of the coffee cups which leaked all over my clothes.
This place is a hidden gem! Highly recommended if you have kids and are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Telluride...
A couple things to note:
* It's a condo NOT a hotel.
* Different units vary quite a bit... so your mileage may vary...
* Office is NOT on site... check your email for address details... its about 4 blocks away, and has limited hours...
* Heated year-round outdoor pool!
* Short walk to ski lifts!

Nice, fairly cheap condo.
The room was nicer than I had expected; however, the bathroom is in need of a little plumbing maintenance. The sink drain pull was absent, the shower head was about 50% functional, and the tub drain was extremely slow. Otherwise, the room was neatly organized, modern, and clean.
We had a wonderful stay at the Viking Lodge in Telluride. It is very convenient to the ski lifts and within walking distance to the downtown area as well. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and a good value for this area. We appreciated the fully-equipped kitchen and utensils, and enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The lodge staff was very helpful making recommendations on restaurants and points of interest in Telluride. We highly recommend this facility and look forward to our return.
It was a great hotel. Very close to everything. Great view! We had a fantastic time. We will surely stay there next time we go to Telluride.
