I have stayed here several times and love it. The steps down the riverside rooms are not for the unfit but worth it. Food is top class. Only downside for me, is all the neighbouring big swings, are taking away from the previous local forest feel and can hear people squealing sometimes throughout the day,

Paradise

Kampung Resort is one of the most beautiful resort I have stayed in. Everything about this place is excellent. Located around the rice terraces in the beautiful area of Tegalalang, the resort itself is absolutely beautiful. Its one of those places where just waking up feels wonderful. The ambience is very nice and peaceful, I will always cherish the wonderful time I spent in the cafe area, feeling awed by the gorgeous view of the tall palm trees and the rice terraces. Its one of those places that awakens your creative side. Most importantly, the owner and all the staff are the nicest, they will do everything they can to genuinely help you in any way possible. The owner of the resort is balinese and it felt really nice to be staying in a place owned by a local, considering that a lot of businesses in bali are owned by foreigners. I will definitely stay again at Kampung.

Nature is slowly taking over

We stayed here for two nights. What a huge difference from Komaneka at Bisma in central Ubud. This place feels like nature is slowly taking over, from their wornout sign at the entrance to the road, which had chunks missing, leading to the place. The lobby area feels dark, dirty and cluttered. The stairs leading to lower level dining area and to our accommodations are very steep. There were two big dogs there. Thankfully, young and able bodied porters were able to carry our heavy luggages. They deserve a good tip for doing this hard work. The toilet in our room was problematic. If you flush the wrong way, you had to jiggle it. The tank top doesn’t come off. Toilet rim was dirty and it’s water tank fills so slowly. The bathroom felt dark even with all the lights turned on. Our ‘Royal Suite’ room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking Alas Harum, a rice terrace amusement area with a cafe and swings, so lots of noise can be heard from our room during the day. Make sure to try their cafe. We felt that their cafe served much better and less expensive food than Tebasari Resto, which was a few minutes away. WiFi was a bit slow. Thankfully, we only stayed here for two nights. Then off we went to a piece of heaven, called Ayana.
