The room (unit 14) was as described but quite frankly was not clean. There were a large swarm of ants crawling over the bedside table on the second night. There were a myriad of dead fly's and other creatures in the light fitting and an enormous stain on the carpet in the room.
Not really a place we would ever want to visit again.
Very comfortable large room, good bed and good bathroom.

There was nothing unique about the property. It was over priced for what it was and for the facilities. I must say the toilet paper was probably the worst I have ever struck obviously the cheapest on the market. Cleaning could do with a shake up as well as cobwebs on light fittings and windows and dusting and vacuuming behind side tables has not been attempted for a considerable time. The old now not in use blind fittings could be removed now as they are not in use
We really liked the property manager as she responded cheerfully to all our requests. Also it was one of the few motels in the area with air conditioning. The location was convenient to all of our activities. The only issue we had was the numbers on the parking spots were faded and hard to see which led to some confusion on where to park. Someone parked in our spot and we had to ask them to move.
My room booking was mucked up completely as I paid for a Spa room but got a River side, the web page had muddled up Room and payment so had to pay extra to get the room I asked for, Lucky there was a room available.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Room was fine and spacious however being right on a major roadway was a drawback with lots of truck noise.
An absolutely wonderful stay. Room size was huge, guest book was a win. Loved that it had some everyday Te Reo, how to pronounce and use. Had other 'kiwi specific' language too. Timber used in construction of room was named , a beautiful touch. Attention to detail unsurpassed.
Road noise is not unbearable nor the trains but if you require absolute silence to sleep you may struggle. Grounds were impeccable.
Motel style property on the main road. From the outside it doesn’t look great but on the inside the room was large and comfortable with a king size bed. Room was very clean. The only negative about the property is the road noise. However for one night and not far from Waitomo Caves not bad !
Unfortunately I was put in a room with only two beds and there were three of us - my two children aged 16 and 12 and neither of them wanted to share the bed with their mum (nor did I) and they definitely did not want to share the same bed. We got back to the motel around 9pm to find that our tv wasn't working. We realise it was past 8pm for the reception hours however we wanted to watch tv. My son rang reception and left a message. The lady rang us back and came over. She was not impressed that she had to come in her pyjamas - well I wasn't impressed as I was in my pyjamas too!! All that was required was some batteries for the remote which she got and the TV was working - she did ask that we only call her before 8pm - well I would have if I was there!! I only was at the motel to sleep and didn't spend much time there at all but when we were there, we wanted to be able to watch TV. It was a simple thing that maybe could have been prevented if the TV/remote was checked occasionally. Overall we were not happy with the fact that we had to share beds or get "told off" for ringing reception for the TV not working.
