The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything we tried. The spa was probably one of my favorite parts. It was so relaxing and honestly one of the best spa experiences I’ve had in a long time. "Such a cool place. Its got a great location to base youre travels from and a super cool and helpful staff if you need anything. Everything here has really been thought out well by the staff and management. They also are doing an expansion of the premises in this off season that looks like irs gonna be awesomene. The other really cool thing is its all off the grid on solar and has its own wells. Pair that with the great food and amazing staff makes this a go too for my EL Nido based trips"

"Staff especially Lhynne was wonderful but overall amenities and property management including food options is very poor. New Year’s Eve event was horrible, most of the things promised didn’t happen & food left a lot to desire for. Overall not a world class 3 star resort even. The staff however are polite and tried their best to provide a good experience but they are constrained by the amenities & what’s available for them to do. Overpriced for a resort of this quality. "

Karuna El Nido Villas

Karuna El Nido Villas

8/10 Good
"This was one of the more interesting hotels that I stayed at while in the Philippines. Tucked away up a hilly forested area, the hotel gives you the feeling of a luxury hotel with an outdoor campground vibe. I had a large room with a beautiful, draped bed that faced one of the most beautiful views I've ever had in any hotel in any country. The bed faced a wrap-around oversized villa style balcony that overlooked beautiful blue water with a stone mountain overlooking the area. The view alone justified the price of the villa in my opinion. The room was very spacious but seemed a little earthy, probably due to the jungle pretty much surrounding the room. There were bugs that constantly made their way into the room. You couldnt leave food out anywhere because the little ants would swarm it within minutes in certain areas. I also saw the biggest spider I've ever seen in my life walking under my bed! The bathroom was out outside of the room but attached to the rear in a secluded spot bordered by woods. The cool thing was that monkeys would sit on my balcony and just hang out while I was there. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and would provide much needed transportation in and out of the resort area. The restaurant also was outdoors and had a nice view and menu selection with a helpful staff. The biggest problem would be that there's a huge challenge if youre handicapped because of the sloped mountain the hotel sat on. Would highly recommend! 8 out of 10."
