We were driving around and came across this beautiful little church on a hill. We decided to walk to it through a hail storm. It is a 12th century church and is the highest church in England. The rock that it rests on is formed from basaltic lava which was formed 350 million years ago in a shallow sea. It is unusual as the rest of the moor is mostly made of granite.

Each guest has shared access to the common room, housing the kitchen and sofa. "I really enjoyed my stay at the Grosvenor. I appreciated its history and the two lounges had comfy seating. It was a few minutes walk away from The Hoe where I enjoyed strolling and sitting on the benches looking out onto the water. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. I loved the deep bath. The bed was comfortable and the blackout curtains made the room nice and dark for sleeping. Breakfast was delicious with many options. I highly recommend this hotel."
