With a car, this is a wonderful little place to stay near Taormina, if you enjoy peace and quiet and want to take advantage of a real, and quiet, (non-touristy) Sicilian town.
Do not stay here without a car because there really isn't anything to see or do nearby, and the buses are not very practicable. 40 minute drive to Mount Etna, 20 minute drive to Taormina centre, and maybe 35 minutes to Catania. (Times are quick ball-park estimates).
The host is fantastic, albeit very little English is spoken. Again, this can be a positive if you are looking to practice your Italian or want a real Italian experience. Breakfast is good and has all the necessary offerings. Parking is free, on site, behind a locked gate.
Be warned, the decor is very kitch, but the rooms are large and have everything needed for cooking yourself a nice Italian meal (plenty of little botegas nearby)
