We enjoyed our stay at Dar souran very much :) the rooms are very comfortable and both the terrace view and freshly cooked breakfast are amazing. The owner and staff are also extremely friendly and welcoming and make you feel at home. Thanks again for everything, especially to Munir and Jihan who did a wonderful job!!
Wat een heerlijke verblijfplaats midden in de Medina van Tanger. Een prachtig traditioneel verbouwd herenhuis, met mooie kamers en uiterst vriendelijk personeel.
I cant express how awesome, friendly and welcoming the whole staff & owner are! They alone make the stay worthwhile & the beauty of Tangier is just the icing on the cake. I would 100% recommend this place to friends.
My only suggestion for future guests is to book your transportation from airport with the hotel directly
In the thick of the old City with a nice terrace to eat and enjoy the views. The staff was incredible. I felt like a valued guest. Cannot remember the name of the man but he even walked me to get amenities because I surely would have gotten lost. I'm going back and I'll stay here again!
Staff was very helpful. They helped get us a few dinner reservations and even offered to have someone walk us to dinner so that we didn't get lost or bothered in the medina. The hospitality was great and we loved the rooftop
The decor was really nice and the staff was super helpful. However, I would have appreciated a door for the bathroom, especially the alcove that held the toilet, and a shower curtain for the shower. Also it is impossible for the taxi to take you to the front door, which meant walking through a labrinth before arriving. Having to carry our luggage for that long was hard and it wasn't until later that we realized it was a safe neighborhood. Breakfast was lovely, a tasty array of bread, pastries, cheese, and eggs with great coffee or tea and fresh squeezed orange juice, served on the terrace.
Amazing - this place was perfect. So beautiful - so helpful. The front desk lady did our laundry for us. Everyone was super nice and super helpful. 10 stars! Breakfast on the terrace was good - hotel standard Moroccan style breakfast with juice eggs and bread and cheese. Perfect location and super comfy room and bed. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and can't recommend it highly enough.
First impressions were very favourable. Central location, very clean with friendly, helpful staff.
The bed was really hard (but that’s a matter of taste) and the bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a curtain only, and this curtain was falling off the rail.
Overall, would recommend but they need to look into that bathroom ‘door’!
Lady at desk was phenomenal! Ohh...I forgot her name. So friendly and helpful. I had trouble getting a train ticket and she bought it for me! Riad was right in heart of medina, which made it very noisy (that's the reason i marked it one down), and area is easy to get lost in; but, if you want to be in the heart, this is it! Room and riad were beautiful. Simple, but good breakfast (coffee, juice and breads with jam / cheese).
Exceptionally warm staff, everyone was impressively helpful and anticipatory of our needs and even minor comforts. Very accommodating to travelers with families. Wonderful stay and highly recommend.
This hotel was a treat during our stay in Morocco. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable, the view of the city from the hotel was spectacular. Having said that, I was disappointed with the service, for a hotel charging premium rates I expected more. The bar staff were slow and seemed to be more focused on serving the friends of the man running the bar then the rest of the guests. The bar played the exact same music track every night despite there being a so called DJ. To top it off the nightly entertainment was some karaoke singer who just talked through most of the songs. She was so loud and annoying, you couldn’t talk with your friends in the dining room during dinner. The bright spot for me was the service at the Moroccan restaurant, the two men were fantastic and attentive, the rest of the hotel staff could learn from them.
Amazing staff, location in the middle of the city, and a really beautiful boutique hotel. Can recommend to anyone who would like experience Tanger with a personal touch.
The hotel staff is very good and accommodating. Had a early morning ferry and they had breakfast ready before their breakfast time and the bellman walked us with our luggage all the way to the ferry port, the front desk also is very good at communicating. My issue was more so with the room, the shower and toilet were together and generally just didn’t feel very clean. The bed was somewhat comfortable but the pillows provided were pitiful, they definitely need to improve this aspect. The pillows are the type of pillows that one would stuff inside a decorative cover not a sleeping pillow. Also you can hear every little thing happening inside and outside the hotel. The sitting areas and roof are nice and the staff once again is great
Why stay in a bland hotel when you can stay in this amazing riad? The location is fantastic and the room was larger and nicer than expected. In addition to a queen bed, there was a neat loft with two twin mattresses. Everything was clean. They didn't seem fazed by two men checking in, or inquire further. The hotel is a little tricky to find, but it is fun walking the small alleys once you situate yourself. For those using the Tarifa ferry, it is an easy walk.
Merveilleux établissement, bien placé, (nous avons pu découvrir la ville à pieds) très belle vue sur les toits de Tanger ! Le personnel est aux petits soins et le propriétaire extrêmement sympathique.
We had a great stay at this property. It was extremely beautiful and well cared for. Very new. The location to the port was great and there was an outstanding view of the straight of gebralter towards Spain on the terrace.
The owner Paul was very accommodating and provided a great restaurant recommendation. Best food we had on our 10 day tour of Morocco.
The best way to find the property as well as parking is to head for the port and look for the continental hotel up on the ridge overlooking the port. There is a parking lot at the bottom and then there is a short walk up to the hotel. You will need help finding the hotel as it is kind of tucked away on innerstreets of the Medina that do not look very appealing. Once In front and inside you will feel right at home.
I highly recommend this property
Staff is very helpful and accommodating, always with a smile. It was Ramadan and they helped us find a restaurant that was exactly what we were looking for.
The rooms were perfect! Loved the breakfast on the rooftop terrace.
Great location, close to everything!
