⭐️⭐️ 2-Star Review — Disappointed by Pool Closure and Shower Issues
I booked the Westshore Tribute Portfolio Marriott in Tampa primarily because I was flying out the next day and wanted to relax by the pool without having to leave the hotel. Unfortunately, the pool was under maintenance — and there was no notice of this online during booking. That alone was a major disappointment, as it was the main reason I chose this location. Had I known, I would have booked elsewhere.
Upon arrival, the room looked fine at first glance. However, once I went to shower, I realized the drain was clogged — leaving me standing in a pool of murky water and hair. That’s not something I ever deal with at home, and it really grossed me out. The bathrooms are also a bit dated, which didn’t help.
While I appreciated the complimentary parking, airport shuttle, and a late checkout (noon is great), the constant knocking from housekeeping between 9 AM and 11 AM was frustrating — especially since it wasn’t even for me. Someone kept knocking to ask if I ordered water… which I hadn’t.
The location is more residential and not close to downtown attractions like the Riverwalk, convention center, or cruise port. You’ll need a car or ride share to get around — it’s about a 5-mile drive. There is a shopping mall across the street and a Publix nearby.
