The location is reasonably close to the train station, and quite close to the bus stops that can take you to most of tourist attractions.
The property is old, but can't complain as the price is not bad.
So overall it's not a bad option if you are looking for a reasonably clean and convenient accommodation within budget.
I would not save a few bucks and do this again. The staff is amazing but the facility is a safety concern with all the mold and dated items

The hotel was better than many people wrote. It was good for the price. Don‘t expect things you get in a five star hotel. I was there for 2 weeks and it was okay. Bus stations are close, but MRT is 15 minutes away, but you get everywhere by bus. Get an easy card in advance. You need about 100 NTD per day if you travel around. Use the google maps app to travel.

8/10 Good Hotel
It was a nice hotel. Their staff will go above and beyond for you. Bus stops, 7 eleven stores, laundry-mat are in 1 block proximity. But where it falls short for me were the showers; it needs a shower curtain, it becomes a very slippery ground from showering water going everywhere in the bathroom. Grab on to the handles as tight as possible so you don’t fall. The beds were very firm, nearly hard as a rock. I thought I wasn’t going to get any sleep but it had its way to feel fine to sleep on. 4 large bottle of waters, tea pack and coffee where in the room. I do recommend this place and I would go back again, but just beware of the bed being very firm and the bathroom being messy wet after a shower.
The room was clearly a smoking room, there was literally a roach climbing the wall when I walked in, dirty decor overall but if you want to stay cheap and can tolerate such... ^
Damp and musty. Lert the window open. Kettle and fridge ok. Walk to train within reason. Hot water for shower ok. Foundation of tub in need of serious repair. Very old building.
Time travel back to the 1970s but it’s like the furniture and decor had been used for 50 years.

Disliked: Cleanliness
This place was good for what I paid. But needs to be cleaned properly. And things like the celling and walls need be sanded and repainted. The carpet was filthy.
Overall, the hotel and room was quite nice, but I was disappointed that there was a lot of mould in the washroom along the tub and in the tile grout lines. As well, be aware that it is not normal for hotels in Taipei to necessarily have heat and this hotel does not, and I found the room quite cold and difficult to be comfortable in for this reason.
The hotel is extremely old and rundown. Staff doesn't speak English or make any attempts to hear your concerns. My toilet wouldn't flush and they did nothing about it. The bed is as hard as a rock. I did get two more pillows when I complained. In the room, there was NO control of the air conditioning or hot water. It was freezing. Towels had holes in them. The faucet of the sink was precarious. It was the cheapest room I found in Taipei, but there is a reason for it.
Upon checkin the first room given to me had cockroaches. Changed to the second room, but shortage of bathing towel, the electrical charging point was loose.
