Room is new, wooden floor, big enough to fit 2 big luggages. Shower water pressure and temperature is good, bed and pillow super comfy, duvet thick and warm. Aircon is cold, room is quiet, allows secure luggage storage with tag pre and post check out, nice local breakfast shop and a taiyang bing shop just downstairs. Walkable to taichung TRA in 5-8min. If u take Ubus from taipei airport, it just takes 2 hours to reach and 8-10min walk from drop off to hotel (ask bus counter for exact drop off stop). Most importantly, there’s a Kuo Kuang bus terminal 1min walk from hotel where u can take the bus to taipei (cheaper and more convenient than HSR), and also a bus shop just next to hotel to take bus to Feng Chia. For this price and location in taichung, Palmer is the best u can find!

The triple room was big but basic. The aircon was weak so on our stay which was 35 degrees outside it was unbearable. The laundry room charged for detergent, washing and drying and closes promptly at 9pm - very inconvenient for people on holiday.

Front desk staff were smiley, helpful and know the stuff in giving tips and guide on how to get around in Taichung and how to get to Tainan. I highly recommend Palmer Hotel and commend the front desk staff for excellent service.

The hotel is not that near with the train station but since our aim is to go to sun moon lake, this hotel is perfect. Just a bit of walking distance from the shuttle bus pick up point to sun moon lake.

It was clean, AC was cold, they provided all the necessary toiletries, location was great, good value. The only thing I didn’t like was that the people that asked to store their luggage basically just had to leave it on the floor of the lobby.

Affordable, convenient but not comfortable
Hotel is conveniently located close to the bus and train station, but in the older, run-down corner. My room was clean, but it was small and smelled very strongly of chemicals coming out of the drains in the bathroom. The bed was not comfortable, and the sound-proofing was not good. Housekeepers were friendly but can be a little noisy. I supposed I got what I paid for, but I'll probably not stay here again next time.

The hotel is near taichung station, not the high speed rail station. You will need to catch a local train to get to HSR station. There is not much to do nearby. But close to Gancheng bus stop so u can catch the local buses to department stores, night markets etc. The bathroom is quite small. The breakfast is quite simple.

Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. WiFi connection in the room was unacceptable! Laundry room was only avail 9.30am-around10pm. Staff responded to questions in a matter of fact manner; not warm/friendly/approachable unlike other hotels and hostels.

Everything was excellent but only the beds are not clean enough. My 2 kids got red rash all over their legs after sleeping on one beds. I had to rush over to the pharmacy to buy medicines for the rash & felt itchy. stilll got the rash but not itchy now.

4 days Taichung concert trip
5 to 10 mins walk to Taichung Train station, near to the famous Miyahara Ice Cream, only 5 mins bus ride to 一中街. Breakfast is the usual Taiwanese style porridge. Staff is helpful and will give recommendations on where to have your meals.

The hotel is slightly away from the main shopping area but next to the main train and the station. The main shopping area are within 5 to 10 minutes walk. The historical park is nearby too and worth a walk there. There were 15 of us staying and we booked 2 6 bedded family rooms and triple rooms. The triple room has a huge bathroom. Shame that the 6 bedded room has a normal size bathroom. Otherwise, the rooms were comfortable and adequate for our family.

Unbeatable downtown location
Unbeatable downtown location near TRA Taichung Station and all forms of public transport (except high speed trains and airplanes) - city buses, intercity buses, Taiwan Tourist Shuttles, etc. Modern hotel with spotless and comfortable rooms. We were lucky enough to have a rather spacious room with great view. Very nice buffet breakfast. Downside: WiFi was disastrous during my stay, as far as my computer was concerned.

just the location is good,other than that is worst. the wifi is unable to connect in the room,intercom 3times to lobby,they request us to go down lobby to check our phone type,there is no wifi poblem when we were in lobby,the female staff wear black shirt told us maybe due to most the guests stay inside their room,so we unable to attach the wifi,i realy feel nonsense with the answer,isnt meaning the late coming guest canot use the wifi,then i ask them isnt we need wait others guest not using the wifi or we need to surfing at lobby area only. then only they said will check the modem and restart it finally we able to attach the wifi,but the line will disconnected on and off and very slow. we stay there for 3night,only the first day they provide us 2 free bottle water,they no send us any bottle water for other days(or maybe there have such policy in taiwan,the free bottle is for 1st day only) the aircon is the worst,we turn to 16celcius till no feel any cool wind,wake up with sweating if u want have sauna room,u are advice to book this hotel,if not..please choose others hotel my room is 1009

Use its original hotel name in chinese to locate.
Location good since near to railway and bus terminals. Very good value for money. Surrounding streets are quite dirty and walkways blocked with goods.

convenient hotel near bus station
We are happy staying in this hotel, just nice for a couple. Bath room is spacious, room is clean, tv is big! Location is super strategic and very convenient, it is around Gan Chen Zhan area. the reason i stayed here is super convenient to take Nantou bus to sun moon lake, and also very near to Taichung train station to travel to high speed train station. It is also a walkable distance to Miyahara Ice Cream. Best thing in Taichung is the FREE bus ride, within 10km, bus ride is FREE! ;)
