The perfect place to stay in Swakopmund. It is clean and quiet and the staff are great. It's a short walk to the jetty and good places to eat. They have a laundry service and organised my transfer to Walvis Bay airport. I would definitely stay here again

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit gutem Frühstück. Die Unterkunft liegt recht zentral und man ist schnell zu Fuß im Zentrum von Swakopmund oder am Jetty. Der kleine Garten ist hübsch angelegt und lädt ein, dort zu frühstücken oder ein Gläschen Wein zu trinken.

Tolle Unterkunft mit neuer Gastgeberin.

Tolle Unterkunft mit neuer Gastgeberin. Inge, die Tochter, hat die Unterkunft von Ihren Eltern übernommen und ist eine tolle Gastgeberin. Sehr hilfreich und zuvorkommen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und sauber. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir kommen auch ein drittes Mal gerne wieder bei unserer nächsten Rundreise.

Très bon séjour, heure du petit déjeuner avancé de 10 min pour nous afin de nous permettre de déjeuner avant l'activité que nous devions faire de bonne heure. Bon conseils Juste petit problème de température, il faisait froid et pour des questions de condensation, il ne faut pas fermer la fenêtre de la salle de bain...

Super Lage bei prima Preis Leistung

Der Secret Garden liegt sehr zentral und hat sichere Stellplätze für das Auto. Es sind alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants bestens zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das deutsche Ehepaar organisiert auf Wunsch alle Ausflüge und hat uns für unseren weiteren Reiseverlauf tolle Tipps mit auf den Weg gegeben.

Schöne Unterkunft in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Centru

Tolle Unterkunft mit super Lage zur Stadt und ans Meer. Die deutschsprachigen Gastgeber sind etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig und verschroben. Aber auch hilfsbereit.

Clean & Pretty in Good Location, Intrusive Manager

The guest house is very pretty, well maintained and clean in very easy walking distance to everywhere you would need in Swakopmund. Safe parking is also included. The breakfast is good and fresh (7:30am until 9am) but there is no option of requesting anything that isn't out on offer. You eat what is there (breads, jams, fruit and a hot offering of french toast / eggs or similar) Our experience however was negatively impacted by the overbearing management team. We were made to feel quite uncomfortable at times (a nasty comment was made at check in for being from the UK) and when using the wifi in the lounge for 10 minutes, told that we were 'sad' for staying in on the internet all day. One morning we decided to skip breakfast and sleep in a little later, the owner banged on the door at 9:10 to ask where we were?? It felt a little intrusive. More worryingly, we were disturbed by the way management spoke to their staff and how the staff moved when they were close by. The staff were helpful, kind and pleasant - but we felt they were very undermined by the management. It is a shame that their behaviour made us feel this way, the guest house itself is very pleasing and clean so our experience should have been a positive one. As it was, they made us feel quite unwelcome and we actively wanted to leave by the end of our 3 night stay.

Superb Artisan Accommodation Close to Everything

Strategically located close to both downtown with its historical and architectural landmarks and to the beach, Secret garden Guesthouse is truly a home away from home, with impeccable service and cleanliness and state of the art stylish decoration.

Great little hotel in the city

We loved our stay here, calm atmosphere, great walkable location, superb staff, and great recommendations from the owners. A little nosey though, and staff asked we not mention to owners when we tipped the staff - a little concerning given the staff were excellent.

Unterkunft in guter Lage

Wir hatten 2 Übernachtungen gebucht. Die Unterkunft liegt nahe dem Atlantik und der fußläufig erreichbaren Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Personal ist freundlich und stets hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war übersichtlich aber völlig ausreichend, im dazugehörigen Bistro gibt es außer Sonntags ne lecker Pizza. Einzig negativ zu bewerten ist die starke Luftfeuchtigkeit in unserem Zimmer. Unsere Sachen waren nach dem Aufenthalt etwas feucht, und durch das Badfenster welches man nicht verschließen soll hat es rein geregnet.

The hotel accommodations were quite lovely. The room was spacious and clean, but the staff were sincerely very difficult. Any question asked was not answered, owner hung up the phone on me when I tried to confirm the reservation, and we were yelled at for leaving our light on one day. This made the stay less pleasant. Other guests echoed these sentiments and we were able to laugh about it. I hesitate to recommend due to the staff/ownership, but it was good value for money and comfortable.

Guter Ausgangspunkt

Der Garten ist sehr schön und gepflegt, die Lage der Unterkunft perfekt für Spaziergänge durch die Stadt. Ein sicherer Osrkplatz ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach, die Gastgeber sehr hilfsbereit.

Pleasant; close to the beach

I've stayed here several times, and room 4 was a bit disappointing. The water pressure in the sink was very low, and not great in the shower; the mattresses a bit saggy; the wifi didn't work day one (but was fixed and blazing fast by day two); and there was no kind of table to hold the laptop and books while I worked, so I worked from the bed. In the past they've offered eggs cooked to order at breakfast; this time it was just take a boiled egg (5 or 7 minutes!) from the buffet. I also have concerns that the black staff here seem much more cowed -- i.e., afraid of guests (all white whenever I've been here) and the white owners -- than I observe other places in town. I don't see or know enough to make a judgement, but enough to feel a bit uncomfortable.

Toll, sauber, ruhig, sehr schön!

Wir waren hier für eine Nacht und hätten durchaus noch länger bleiben können und wollen! Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Die Anlage ist ganz liebevoll gestaltet, schön bewachsen mitten in der Wüste mit Kakteen und zwei tollen Pools. Man kann in den Naukluft-Bergen wandern, es gibt eigene trails. Wir haben Bergzebras gesehen, und abends kam eine Hyäne zum Wasserloch. Ganz toll, sehr schön und ruhig. Große Zimmer mit eigener Terrasse mit Blick in de Wildniss. Wahnsinns-Sternenhimmel. Nach Solitaire fährt man ca. 5 Minuten. Nach Sossusvlei eine Stunde.

Unbelievable find- beautiful and comfortable

I booked this because it was a practical location at a good price. But once you enter the front door, you see it's a beautifully renovated and decorated 1910's house with a wonderful staff, great bistro, nice owners, comfortable beds, and all spotlessly clean and comfortable. No need to make Africa excuses for any cut corners- this would be beautiful in Germany or France!
