Title: Extremely Disappointed – This Hotel Needs Serious Upgrades
My recent stay at Windward Passage Hotel was absolutely horrible. Upon arrival, check-in took about 40 minutes—far too long, especially after traveling. The hotel is visibly old and in desperate need of renovations. To make matters worse, the surrounding area has a strong, unpleasant odor.
When we got to our room, I conducted my usual water test (which I do when traveling). I placed one of the hotel’s white towels in the sink and tub, let the water run for 3 minutes, and to my disgust, the towel turned gold—clear evidence of dirty, rusted pipes. We immediately reported this to guest services. They switched our room, but the problem persisted in the new room as well. Again, the towels turned gold from the water. It was so disturbing that I was afraid to even take a shower.
The pool was practically deserted—only two people were using it the entire weekend, which felt like a red flag. The included breakfast was a major letdown. Not only was the food cold, but pork was the only meat option. For a hotel hosting diverse guests, this is incredibly inconsiderate. Also, flies were buzzing around the food. I highly suggest investing in a bug zapper or taking steps to eliminate them before serving meals.
This hotel seriously needs a full upgrade—plumbing, cleanliness, food service, and customer care. We only stayed here because it was recommended by a friend for her wedding in St. Thomas, but I will never stay here ag
