I’m giving 5 stars for the restaurant staff for their stellar service and great food but 0 stars for the management staff. On the 2nd day we got a massive leak and maintenance said that that’s the room they having issues with leaks and they can’t fix it.The room also was very outdated with the tv only being able to stream YouTube. The biggest red flag they have is their complete lack of security presence during the night time. On one night while my kids were trying to sleep a couple of women came by and caused a total chaotic scene. They started with banging the door and arguing which then grew to physical altercations, with at one point one of the women screaming she was getting r…d.My traumatized kids had to call 911 because there was no one present to disperse the scene. Even after the police kicked them out they came back a second time to continue banging on doors. The management was notified but did nothing about it. Other than that, the restaurant was an awesome experience. Shoutout to Michelle and Sani from the morning staff and Shelby from the night one for being very helpful and amiable people that helped make our time there feel much better.

Ok! Overall we enjoyed our stay and vacation, but booked this location based off of somewhat misinformed reviews. So, -Location makes for pricely taxis up and down the hill. They are a must or renting a car, but we did not see ample parking for car rentals. -Stunning views of the waterfront area. -The best included breakfast we've had as it was made to order and delicious. -Wonderful bar drinks and fantastic apps but we skipped real meals here as they seemed pricey. Like we were paying for the views we already paid for, but I'm sure the food was fantastic. -We had a Deluxe Room with little patio and the rooms for my were maybe 2 stars at best which is a big reason we would not stay here again. -No, we were not offered the VIP upgrade but also didn't bother asking about it.

Had a great stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant was very good and the pool was great. Oh… and the view was incredible! I know they are making renovations all the time - it would be awesome to have beverage and light food service at the pool.

The views from this property are amazing! There is no elevator, so you have to carry your suitcases up and down steep stairs. The hotel is in somewhat degraded condition. This adds to the charm in its external appearance, but the significant paint peeling and a hole in the bathroom ceiling went beyond the disrepair expected. The Junior suite had a good AC unit for the bedroom, and the bed was very comfortable. That was the only AC unit for the room, which meant that the front room with couch and table (and great view!) was warmer than desired, and it would get no AC if the bedroom door was closed. There is no means to get anything to drink or eat at this hotel before 8am or after 8 pm- not even filtered water. Breakfast is included and good but does not open until 8 am, and opened late nearly every day of my visit, making this breakfast less of an option for business travelers who have morning commitments. There isn't even coffee or tea in the rooms to have before the breakfast opens, and there is no nearby coffee shop for early risers. The restaurant is open for dinner every night and again was good and with a wonderful view, but it is closed on Tuesdays and thus there is no way to get food on property on that night. I tried to get food delivery to the hotel since I was on business travel but could not find any place willing to deliver. Without a car, it is less ideal to stay at this hotel for this reason. The staff were all wonderful- helpful and accommodating.

This little gem offered a wonderful restaurant on site with a fantastic team from accommodating manager Robyn, talented chef, Rolando who came by table side to make sure everything was as expected. Bartenders created a personalized request specialty martini 🍸🌴😎 ohhh… the views were spectacular from the balcony dining room!! Definitely a return visit.

The hotel is old and need many updates BUT it was clean and perfect for our long weekend. The staff was wonderful and the free breakfast was delicious. I don’t know if I would ever go back to St Thomas since it is soo hard to navigate around even with a rental car. If we do return I would stay there again

We enjoyed our stay at the Mafolie Hotel in February 2026!! The pool was lovely and the view from the pool and restaurant was absolutely stunning!!! The staff was the best ever!! The front desk staff, cleaning staff and restaurant staff are all incredible - so friendly & extremely hard working and they made our visit extra memorable! The restaurant was terrific and we highly recommend! Free breakfast to start the day could not be beat! Dinner with a view was spectacular! The only issues we had were: our room was completely interior and we missed having natural light and any type of view would have been appreciated (not that we spent too much time there!) as well, the good thing is that this hotel is on a mountain and has the best view ever and the bad thing is that it is on a mountain and you must take a taxi everywhere!!!! Walking on the minimal shoulder of the road is not recommended!!! We had expected to do some walking to local attractions and that was not possible (disappointing.) All in all, a wonderful hotel that I would recommend for its charm, cleanliness and outstanding staff and hospitality!!

This was our fourth time staying at the Mafolie and it was wonderful as always. The hotel is very quaint with a real island charm. The view is the best on the island. The rooms are not fancy but are clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar provide delicious food and craft made cocktails. Great service in the bar/restaurant and in the hotel.

Great view and kind staff! Although very poor water pressure, and the bed was not secure. One of the legs was bowed in and made the whole bed wobbly and felt like it was going to break. They came and fixed it, but it still felt like it was going to collapse. No coffee, so you will have to make a trek up the hill every morning. Don't use the hotel's recommended taxi service as they charge MUCH more than the Airport's taxi service.
