Crystal Bay Historic Hotel

Crystal Bay Historic Hotel

8/10 Good
"Staying at this historic landmark hotel was truly a step back in time, and as a history lover, I adored it. From the moment we walked into the reception area, the vintage details, beautiful hardwood floors, and historic architecture immediately captured my attention. The lush courtyard was absolutely gorgeous, and every corner of the property seemed to tell a story. Even the old-fashioned, carpeted staircase added to the charm and made the entire experience feel like we had stepped into another era. It was all absolutely blissful. The breakfast spread was another highlight. There was such an incredible variety of delicious options, and everything we tried was wonderful. It was clear that a lot of thought went into offering guests a breakfast that was both plentiful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the condition of our third-floor room. There were very clear signs of water damage that were difficult to overlook. We could see water stains seemingly weeping down the walls around the window frame, cracked stucco on the ceiling where water appeared to have entered, and, most noticeably, a strong mold-like smell in the room. Throughout the night, both my fiancé and I were dealing with stuffy noses and sneezing, which made it difficult to comfortably enjoy the room. Overall, the historic character, architecture, courtyard, vintage details, and fantastic breakfast made this property a memorable experience."
