"We really enjoyed our time on the beautiful ranch. It was very peaceful and we were entertained by the cowboys practicing their team roping skills. We woke up early and watched a herd of elk on the ridge across the valley. We loved the whole experience from beginning to end."
"Quiet location. Friendly staff. Saves a ton of time getting into Glacier National Park since most of the traffic comes from the opposite direction. There is not much around it, but a great place to unwind after a long day of hiking."
"The location of this place simply can't be beat. Paddle Ridge is located less than a mile from the entrance to Glacier National Park and most other places are 10-25 miles away. In fact, since we stayed there during the busy season, the line to enter the park actually backs up to the entrance to Paddle Ridge in the morning.
We stayed at the lodge and I will say the rooms, while perfectly clean, are about as basic as they come. I did feel like the place was a bit misrepresented online. It is advertised as having a bar and coffee shop/cafe. There is a bar area in the shared area upstairs, but it's not like a bar with a bartender or drinks you can purchase--just a space one would call a bar. Fine, I don't mind buying my own, but it was not what it sounded like. Same with the cafe/coffee shop: it's a Keurig coffee machine.
The Lodge has a full kitchen in the community area of the lodge, but it has no plates, bowls, silverware (plastic or otherwise), etc. The only amenities guests are allowed to use are the Keurig coffee machine, fridge, toaster and microwave. So, I'm not sure what the point of the kitchen is. Basically, it's the same amenities of your average hotel room, but inside full kitchen that you can't use.
Every employee we interacted with was super nice and the views from the lodge were divine every night. Each room has two Adirondack chairs outside the room and each night the guests hang outside their rooms to enjoy the sunset and scenery."
"Beautiful room and grounds. Can't get a nicer place with air conditioning any closer to Park entrance. It was perfect for pur trip!
No TV.
No in-room coffee maker (just hot water maker and instant tea/coffee) but on-site café opens at 8am. Coffee there is excellent with tons of options.
We were a group of 3 women. Large, clean, lovely bathroom. One of us each night (8-9pm) had a cold shower. Lodge water heater couldn't keep up with all the guests showering simultaneously.
Bed mattresses are firm. Very nice bedding, towels, etc. Classy place overall."
"What a treat to stay where you take a few steps from the hotel to the lake and view the mountains and scenery--no need to drive, although there are beautiful sights within driving distance and wonderful hiking trails that allow you to get even closer to the beautiful scenery.
We stayed in a double bed room on the basement/lake floor. Special treat to have a second door with screen door that opened to the lake side of the hotel. This part of the hotel has an elevator for which we were grateful, especially after viewing all the stairs both inside and out. The room was comfortable with fan and even a small desk.
We took the hotel tour offered each afternoon. Our tour guide was interesting and shared much of the history of how the hotel was built, remodeled and remodeled again--had a notebook of pictures that helped understanding of the changes over the years.
We ate in the Ptagmigan Dining Room for breakfast--the breakfast continental breakfast met our needs. Lunch and dinner were enjoyed in the Swiss Lounge. There is also a small store on the lake level of the hotel which sells snacks, drinks and other food options. Staff in all hotel locations were friendly and helpful.
Excellent choice IF you can get a reservation!"
