Top St Hilda's College Hotel Reviews
The Mad Hatter Oxford
10/10 Excellent
"Great location- Fantastic decor fitted to a high standard........only issue was the bathroom door dragging along the brand new carpet making shutting the door tricky but I'm sure this will be adjusted as every other attention to detail was a delight. Don't be deterred by the venue below- although we were out until late during the evening, we were actually disappointed that Friday night Drag Bingo wasn't being hosted.......I'm sure it attracts a great crowd because the owners have created such a fun vibe. The road is a noisy one if the windows are open but there were excellent aircon units and the room was really comfortable in both furnishings and temperature & very quiet. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and to recommend- I travel extensively and this was a refreshing change from corporate hotels. The tea and coffee facilities were lovely (a packet of biscuits or two would've been welcome but had perhaps just been missed from the tray). There are cafes close by and a bus that drops you super close if you have luggage to bring from the station but we loved walking through Oxford with light luggage (20mins) on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Thank you to The Mad Hatter for the excellent communication- it really was a treat to enter the World of Alice, in this magical City."
The Store
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent stay in a beautiful part of Oxford. Staff particularly lovely and accommodating."
Malmaison Oxford
8/10 Good
"We loved being in one of the original cell rooms, though ours looked in need of some TLC particularly the bathroom and the wardrobe/desk/chair. The bed was very comfy - would have been good to have a lighter duvet for the current climate. The bar area decor is a bit plain - though the member of staff was super helpful and friendly. The corridors/landing areas are obviously very narrow and when the team are cleaning the equipment clutter them. Would be great if they could find a solution to improve the first impression."

Crown Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We were very pleased with our accommodations at the Crown Hotel. It has been recently renovated so everything was clean and bright and functioning. It also had good AC. The room was spacious and had a desk, chair and wardrobe. The beds were comfortable, not too soft. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The location was near restaurants and shops including grocery stores. There were several buses running frequently to the city Centre. However, younger people could easily walk."
Vanbrugh House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We had such a wonderful visit. The room was gorgeous and so comfortable. Lovely details and room amenities made us feel very spoiled. Beautifully renovated historic property. The location is right in the middle of Oxford and walking distance to everything. Fernando the manager was so great and made sure out stay was memorable. Highly recommend!"

10/10 Excellent
"Regular annual visitors to this hotel so knew what to expect. Room was large and clean. Staff we came across were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast room was very well stocked there was a really wide choice from the buffet. River walk of about 15 mins into the city. Very quiet at night on this occasion. Onsite car parking is £25 per day. Check in agent did not ask for payment and when i asked i was told it was included which surprised me as it never used to be. I went back later and challenged them on this again and surprise another check showed it wasn't so an apology was given and £50 was taken. Failure to pay would mean a £100 fine later on so beware of this. Couldn't get a stable picture on any tv channel which was a little frustrating but then we weren't there to watch tv."
Sportsview Guest House
8/10 Good
"Fairly typical B&B turned "hotel". Parking in the back was very helpful, proximity to downtown Oxford close enough, price fair. The room was small, the stairs up to it even smaller, with two fire doors you had to haul your luggage through. The bathroom was nice, and the shower the best one of our trip. The older man who checked us in had that passive aggressive snooty attitude that you'd see in a movie characterization of a Brit. I had just driven from Heathrow to Oxford on zero sleep after a 15 hour flight, so forgive me if I can't figure out which door is the right one for the property entrance. His sarcastic comments were not appreciated."
