My husband and I spent 5 nights here in late July. If I could sum it up in one word, that would be disappointing. We’ve travelled globally, I admit I’m quite particular, but it didn’t meet my expectation for what we paid.
First of all, come prepared to spend! Typical of an island, everything is more costly, but in addition to the nightly rate, you’ll be charged the hotel occupancy tax of 7.25%, the tourism authority fee of 4.5%, the accommodation service charge of 7%, and the resort fee of $45.00. I get the taxes, but the accommodation charge and the resort fee?!? For what?
Next issue is the food. Typical bland room service menu, and only ONE restaurant. The same restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, though at dinner it turns into the BLT steak. All were average. Achilles next door is good. Otherwise you head into St. George, no dining options worth mentioning, and we ate at two. To get to St. George there is a shuttle but it doesn’t start until 3pm, so if you want lunch out you’re either walking or taking a taxi.
Check in wasn’t great, a 30 minute process, we were given our room keys and that’s it. I find out later there is a booklet with info and QR codes, we had to go back to the desk and ask for one. The charge for incidentals is 300 per day.
My husband played the golf course at the cost of $235 for the round. A steep price for an average round of golf.
Pool and ocean were nice, bed was comfy. People in Bermuda are lovely. Ultimately can’t recommend St Regis.
