Room 109- cleaned with a VERY strongly-scented something. Overpowered the room. Had to keep the door open. Loved the first floor location. The sliding door to the walkway/view was such a bonus. Very quiet. Breakfast- staff VERY attentive. As advertised breakfast was supposed to be a perk; however, the freebie was limited. Regular eggs/bacon/toast extra. Very minimal fruit- 3 grapes, a garnish size of pineapple and watermelon. Location- excellent. Fun to be on the other side of the bridge. We could see the car traffic but we were far enough away that it wasn’t problematic. .5 mile into town.

The room was in good condition and the staff was very courteous however it was freezing outside and we went to turn on the heat but then an immediate smell of plastic entered the room which then set off the fire alarm and we had to lower it to 69 degrees and open up the window so that the smell of plastic would leave the room it was so cold that we had to sleep in our coats and every time the heat did attempt to come on it would sound like an airplane was landing in the room it was so incredibly loud then in the middle of the night I went to use the bathroom and there was a huge Roach this was a very uncomfortable situation to sleep in

Room had an odd musty smell. Bathroom was not dirty but not thoroughly cleaned. The noise at night was horrible. Thin walls. People had music playing well after 1:30 am. Difficult to sleep. Location and staff are great through.

Everything was wonderful except for the coffee during breakfast. I think you need to train your employees on how to prepare better coffee. Coffee tasted like not fresh or probably reused

*An Intimate Escape on the First Coast* Our recent stay at the Marker 8 Hotel and Marina in Saint Augustine was, without question, one of the best experiences we've had along the First Coast. From the moment we arrived, the warmth of the welcome set the tone for a truly memorable visit. The check-in process was seamless and friendly, immediately making us feel not just like guests, but like valued friends. Entering our room, we were captivated by its comfort and thoughtful touches—every detail seemed designed to ensure relaxation and ease. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the stunning view: from the terrace of the tranquil bay and the marina, a living painting that shifted with the light and tide. What truly distinguishes Marker 8 is its boutique spirit. The hotel’s smaller size grants it an atmosphere that is both personal and intimate. There is a sense of quiet exclusivity here, a respite from the bustle of larger resorts. It’s clear that care and attention have been poured into every aspect, from the inviting common spaces to the pristine grounds and the outdoor terrace that surrounds the spa. Throughout our stay, we felt enveloped by a genuine hospitality that is all too rare in today’s world. Every interaction, whether with the staff or simply enjoying the serene setting, reinforced the sense that Marker 8 is a place where guests are known and treasured. In every way, our time at Marker 8 Hotel and Marina was simply splendid.

Great location.

It looked better in the photos than in reality. Pool was small but ok. Needs more shade areas. Included breakfast was average and could be simpler and better. Air conditioning in the room was old and noisy, not sure why this hss not be updated..? Overall small items and we still enjoyed our stay. Location is great..
