「Location is perfect with nice beach. Food to plain. Need to be more fresh fruit and fish. Very basic accommodation. Simple updates can make it much better. Fiji people very nice and try to help you is worth the stay. 」

「Lovely hosts and a wonderful view. The host and her family are simply lovely folks and we felt so welcome. This is a small, family run property and they could not have been nicer. So glad we made this choice. It was terribly humid but the room was a reprieve from the steamy walk to town. Wi-Fi was fine. I never tried the TV because being here was a nice respite from the US.」

「Our room (cottage) was perched 180 ft above the beach. It was perfectly outfitted with porch, kitchen, bedroom w king size bed. The bathroom was amazing with separate shower and toilet rooms. Both were overlooking the ocean and beach and entire grounds. The entire building was done in local, highly polished, hardwood. The downside is if you don’t have a car rental the taxi fare is 70,000 xfp so stay a few days.」

「We had an amazing 3 night stay at Mala resort. This family run accommodation is a great location within the Vava’u island group. The rooms are comfortable with spectacular views. With wifi in the common areas, it’s a great space to digitally detox while still being connected :) The hosts are so friendly and welcoming, happy to help with any request. We would recommend this property to anyone staying in Vava’u. 」

「Upon our arrival (11.30am), there was no one at reception, in fact we never got to meet any reception /management staff. The only people there were a cook and young man, that had no idea what was going on. He informed us that the reception lady was on her way and would arrive approx 4pm!! We managed to speak to her via the young man and the phone. We asked to be shown to our room but the lady (still via the phone call) said we didn’t have a booking!
