It's a good average place for a quick stay. There is no carpet in the rooms. The bare floor is dirty and if you walk around in socks the bottom will be black and filthy. I recommend you wear your shoes or bring slippers. The shower space is very small and the water flow is slow. There is no soap tray to place the shampoo bottle and bar of soap while you're showering so you will have to put them on the shower floor. It's a bare bones place that serves its purpose but don't expect any fancy stuff here.

It is very old.. really needs to be updated. There was a hole in our wall in the room. The carpets are very old and the showers bathroom is very old. It's okay if you're just sleeping there, but you really don't want to hang out in the rooms. Love the shuttle to the beach but it's not just for their hotel. It's for Many on that street so we will stay somewhere else next time. The pool is clean but the walls of the pool are very dirty. We had a king size bed with a queen size headboard. No telephone in the room. No air conditioning, only an in-wall unit and it takes forever for the room to cool off. We were satisfied with our stay. The staff is very nice, but if you're looking for a fancy room, this is not it.

This ‘motel’ has not been updated for over 30 years! The carpet was so bad we couldn’t take our shoes off and the entire building appeared as if it would burn to the ground in seconds. It did not feel safe. And the rates were triple due to the golf tournament. It was bad on all aspects! Consider yourself warned!

I am so sad I didn’t take photos before I evacuated my room so quickly. The beds looked like role away both folded in the middle. Room unpainted, ceiling leaks in need of repaired. Furniture broken and battered horribly. I would not have left my dog there. 1000% unexceptionable!!!!!

The floors were not swept, I picked up dirt & debris on my feet when I walked in the room barefoot. The nightstand’s drawer handle was missing. The bathroom had a bunch of chipped paint & debris around the sink’s floor that should have easily been cleaned. The window had no screen so when we left the window open for air at night mosquitoes came in & we all were basically eaten alive.

We got the wrong room initially and then when we got the right room, the bed looked like it hadn’t been made. The room and the outside of the place looked outdated and not like what the picture showed.

This is an older property, but they are working on fixing it up. Our unit had newer floors (laminate) which was nice. We were not expecting anything fancy for a quick trip and it was absolutely fine. The management was appreciative when I pointed out a couple of things that needed replacing (one of the lightbulbs in the vanity needed to be replaced but it was still plenty bright. If we went up again for a short stay, I would return. It isn’t as fancy as the casinos and large hotels but for the price, well worth it.

We loved our stay at Big Pines Mountain House. Our Check in was easy and room we got was impeccably clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly throughout our stay. Room had a microwave, coffee maker and other handy amenities needed for our stay. Location was great you can walk everywhere.
