"This property is unusual for hotels.com in that its main function is as a conservation centre for a rare breed donkey. It’s close enough to Perpignan to be convenient but far enough away to feel tranquil. The room was excellent. The decor was pleasantly quirky, Mexican themed with a Frieda Carlo picture on the wall and a cactus shaped soap dish in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom modern. "Huge room, very well decorated, very friendly owner, clean, amazing facilities (jacuzzi, steam room, shared swimming pool). A short drive from some very nice beaches!"

"Lovely property well maintained in a remote location. Sadly the pool wasn’t in operation during our stay but that did not detract. We were allocated the pool house so unable to comment on the main house. Owners are friendly, welcoming and eager to please. The village of Darnius is quaint but very much a one-horse town (unfortunately someone has stolen the horse). If it’s tranquility you are after, you will find it here."

"There was one problem, the host texted my phone and said where she was leaving the key but I never received the text because my phone was not working off of wifi. So we arrived at 1030 pm and were lost about what to do until a lady arrived and was able to contact the host because she is good friends with her. The breakfast would have been more enjoyable if the host offered eggs. I loved the strong coffee!"

"Nice guesthouse at a quiet area. Plenty of street parking around. The kitchen was well equipped for simple cooking during these no restaurant days caused by COVID. The breakfast was fantastic with different homemade items during our 6 days of stay. We have a great stay there and will come back again on our next visit of Perpignan. "

The major downside was the 'spa' facilities and the communication from the very rude staff members. The sauna and gym were closed due to Covid-19, this is understandable but there was no mention of this online, and I tried calling beforehand to ask but no one answered. Then the 'hot tub' was in fact freezing cold, and all the staff could say was "That's how it's always been, it's never been...

"The apartments were nice and clean and functional. They had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. I had requested a room on a high floor to get away from the noise of the street but was only given the third floor which was disappointing but it was ok. "
