Lovely old world charm. The owners couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Good beds, great central location and an excellent breakfast. The only small complaint is the towels are closer to sandpaper than cloth.

Ein schönes Haus

Das sehr geschmackvoll renovierte Hotel ist zentral gelegen. Man fühlt sich wohl. Es gibt einen Garten mit alten Bäumen. Das Frühstück, besonders der Brotkorb, ist eher eine Schwäche des Hotels, aber man kann es verzeihen. Wir würden das Hotel wieder wählen.

Interesting, Historic, Friendly

The service in this hotel was fantastic. The location also superb, in the historic part of Sopron. Excellent breakfasts also. The building must date from the 18th Century or maybe the 17th and, despite modernization here and there, it felt slightly creaky to me. Bring pocket flashlights for late evening here- the hallways seem very dark at night. I found my room's fan almost as satisfactory as air conditioning (which it did not have). I have no idea what an American municipal fire department would think of Hotel Wollner's safety arrangements. Quaintness, which Hotel Wollner offers in abundance, may come at the expense of comfort, obviously.

昔の雰囲気が残っているホテル

ショプロンは，ウィーンから60kmしか離れていないが，ウィーンとは文化が異なるかわいい町だ。このホテルもかわいい。スタッフは，両親と若い女性（たぶん娘かもしれない）で運営されている。両親は英語はダメだが若い女性は完ぺきに話すので意思の疎通には問題がなかった。部屋は，昔の中欧のホテルの感じがした。また，寝室とバスの間にカギがかかる仕切りの扉があって，長期滞在の時には，寝室で休んでいて，バスだけの清掃だけを頼めるので便利だ。２階の部屋だったが，部屋以外にもホールがあり，そこで客人と談笑できる。ただ，部屋でWi-Fiにつなぐことができなかった。１階にPCを持っていくとつながるので，そこでつないで，２階に持って上がらなけければならないのが若干不便だった。朝食は，アメリカンスタイルのバイキングだった。このホテルの面白いところは，重い正面扉である。観音開きで，夜８時に閉まる。もちろん，しまっても開けることは可能だが，なかなか風情のある扉だった。

The hotel has a lot of old world charm and fits in very nicely with the old section of Sopron. The location is within walking distance of the center of town, and about a ten-minute walk from the train station. It was a very pleasant place to stay.

Right in the centre of historical Sopron,

Wonderful staff, friendly and a credit to the management. Nothing is a problem for them - they bend themselves backwards to give the best service. However, no coffee or tea in the room and no satellite TV - only Hungarian TV. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay. Will return for sure.

Historic and quality

Hotel is in the old town in an historic building, and has a 'heritage' feel. However, the room was quite large and the facilities modern and good. Staff were friendly and helpful, and overall I'd rate it as good value, with the historic building and location making it a bit more special than most.

Excellent Location in Old Town! Wonderful Staff!

Location: Wollner is in easy walking distance from both the train station and bus terminal. Located within the Old Town, it is just minutes from Fo Ter, Storno House, the Fire Tower, and the Goat Church. Rooms: The Hotel has been recently refurbished, every thing looks clean and fresh. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was large and satisfying. Staff: The staff was outstandingly gracious and helpful. They saw us return from a walk with food and immediately offered to provide us plates and silverware. Dining: At the time of our visit, Wollner's restaurant was not serving meals other than breakfast for guests. We did eat at Erhardt, just outside the old town gates, and had the best meals of our three week trip around Hungary.

Family run hotel in great location

We were the only guests as we stayed in the depths of winter but were made to feel very welcome. The building is beautiful and old and the rooms are spacious, if a little tired. And the location in the heart of the old town is perfect. Recommended.

Wonderful location

The location could not be better. The staff tried their best to make sure our visit was perfect, even if their English was not. Modern rooms in a 300-year-old building in the middle of the historic district made for a delightful stay.

Great location in historic area, near restaurants

The Wollner Hotel is a small intimate hotel in the old historic area of Sopron. Parking can be a problem though the hotel let us park right outside our hotel since we were only staying one night and it wasn't busy at all. Our room was what we expected for the town and the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. They had a nice though simple breakfast. I was most impressed with the fine Hungarian wines. The more commercial area was a short block walk. We drove a rental car from Prague
