This hotel is good for budget travelers since I don't have a car. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Avenel train station, 30 minutes to the Newark airport, and 50 minutes to NYC (Penn Station)

The bed sheets were not clean and the bed was not made properly. Give the housekeeping more training on how to clean the room. I am not proud of the room.

Parking sucks, it's not a place to bring a family. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean and free of any bed bugs or roaches. I got lucky and stayed on the side that was separated from the main area. I think they send the desirable guest over there. It was more of the type of people that place attracted. I would stay again if I were to stay in the separated hotel area. The TV service needs to be fixed . There direct TV has a parental lock on it that blocks out all the TV 14 or higher ratings on it.

Door was ajar and TV was on when I arrived. Door looked like it had been kicked in multiple times.New heavy duty striker plate had been screwed it but I could moveit with my hands. No bedside light at all so you had to turn off the light by the door and negotiate your way to bed in the dark. No shelf in the shower for soap or shampoo. Hot/Cold water on bathroom sink were opposite the normal position with the cold on the left. Making it more confusing the cold came out very warm unless you ran it for a couple minutes. Hot water was scalding hot, so I imagine everyone staying there thinking they're turning on cold water and getting scalding hot water instead. There was also nowhere to hang clothes and the bathroom intake vent was nasty,

I stayed 4 nights. Never received room service. First night I inquired about help with the television because I couldn't figure out how to get to regular cable. I was told that someone would come, they never did. Air conditioning unit was so high up that I had to stand on a chair to see the controls and I'm not a short person. No safety latch on the door. Curtains would not completely close so I had to improvise to get them to close for privacy. Staff was not very friendly. Won't be a returning guest.
