I thought I would give an independent place a try, especially as it was dog friendly. This place was beyond a dump. The carpet was probably forty years old. Every time I flushed the toilet, I had to reach into the tank to push the flapper down, otherwise it would keep running water forever. The wifi was slow and erratic. But the finishing touch was when the door deactivated a half hour before checkout, when I had brought some of my belongings to the car and came back up to get the rest. Key cards stopped working, AND AT TEN THIRTY IN THE MORNING, THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE ON THE PROPERTY. I was locked out. The phone number was some guy in another state. Thankfully, after calling him a bunch of times he found a friend in the area and talked him through how he could break into the office and reprogram my key card.So I could get my belongings. Forty minutes later, i was able to get back into the room. I guess it could have been worse. At least I didn't end up having to commit a crime in order to get my stuff.
