入住採自助check in是很方便，但得在21：00必須check in的要求，會造成困擾，第一次入住時無法在21：00前趕到，得打電話和酒店溝通才能延後check in ，建議check in的時間直接設定在23：50前。

是自助check in 。但問題是有提供茶包和咖啡包，卻找不到「熱水」！房間也沒有熱水快煮壺！打電話也找不到飯店工作人員！留言也等不到任何回應！真的很生氣！後來給我撞見工作人員，問他一問三不知，說他是第一天上班，所以搞不清楚狀況！真是令人哭笑不得！也不知道熱水怎麼燒！ 後來我只好跟他講說請他想辦法給我弄一壺熱水到我房間，最後終於他弄來一壺熱水。 不錯的一點是，早餐還蠻豐盛的，算是彌補了我前一個晚上的不愉快

Alles sauber und zweckmässig, self-check-in hat gut geklappt, Lage mitten im Ort und in Hafennähe ist gut. Keinerlei Personal oder Ansprechpartner vor Ort und auch keinerlei schriftliche Informationen über das Haus und den Service vorhanden. Wer nur ein Bett braucht, ist ok aufgehoben, aber schön, nett, freundlich oder gemütlich ist das dort nicht.

There was no staff for check-in or check-out. We had a problem with the television and had to call a number to get someone to come over. Low season may account for the absence of staff, but the hotel was empty! Breakfast was good.

Positiv: Sauberes, überdurchschnittlich grosses Zimmer Negativ: Keine Rezeption Hotel ignoriert konsequent alle E-Mails von künftigen Gästen mit einer Buchung Erst nach der Buchung und Bezahlung erfährt man, dass man auch während den Ferien online sein muss um die Zimmernummer und deren Code zu erhalten. Zimmereinrichtung ist schlicht, einfach und in die Jahre gekommen

Well, there was no staff at all. so make sure you have a phone to call the local number provided to you. one of the phone number they send you on the email will have a wrong phone number on it. (missing a number). the rooms are quiet small but seems to be a normal for the area.

Do not like the idea of being sent a code for access. We never received any code. Hotel told us they always send out codes, but Hotels.co often do not pass them on to guests. Also sending a code by email is pointless when you are out in the hills and no Wi-Fi coverage. Tried telephoning the hotel, to receive a message try later. Really not helpful. Transpires they do not answer phone till after 1600. Would have been helpful to know that.

Liked the location of the property and it was convenient. However booking a Mountain View and got the street view and they refused to change the room. Very poor customer service. Expedia let me know in this aspect too. They didn’t fix it, neither did they refund the money.

Our stay at the North Star was mostly positive. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. However, the shower in the bathroom is only enclosed by a shower curtain and requires you to squeegee the walls and floor off. An example of Scandinavian minimalism. The check in process is very nerve-racking. There is no attendant in the building, and the phone only calls to an answering machine that answered in Icelandic. Luckily, there was a Grayline tour guide checking in at the same time as we were and she was able to navigate the phone system and connect us with someone. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise that was added after our reservation and the staff at breakfast were helpful. You have to be careful on the elevator since it didn’t match up with the floor. The location was very convenient to the national park and Grundarfjordur. In Olafsvik, there is a gorgeous waterfall within walking distance and you can take a whale watch. There is also a good restaurant right across the street.
