Stayed for one night in early April and loved the place. The inn itself is cosy: the bar and restaurant areas are intimate but with a traditional fire in the bar. Owners were very friendly, food and tap ales were sublime (especially the Queen's breakfast) and the place is ideally placed for walks in the Malham Tarn/ Pen-y-Ghent area. We would definitely return.
We wanted a night away for your anniversary and it was just perfect. Beautiful location, stunning views, lovely food and friendly staff. We checked in which was a little earlier as the rooms were ready. I loved we could bring our dog as well as this really makes a difference. Had a lovely day at Grassington and then came back for tea and the food was delicious. I had the lamb and steak pie which was so tasty. My partner had a steak and he asked for it medium rare but it was more medium well done. (This is the only bit of feedback) but I suppose everyone’s perception on steak is very different. (He was a chef) Also had a sticky toffee pudding which I throughly enjoyed and my partner had a cheese board which he loved. Had a good nights sleep. Then breakfast was fantastic, the lady serving was so friendly and polite. She went above and beyond. There was no way of going home hungry as she made sure if you wanted more toast or more coffee/tea she was there. She is definitely in the right job. Fantastic service! All in all a lovely stay and a lovely anniversary break away.
As usual, fully enjoyed our stay despite torrential rain! Award winning pies produced by the talented landlady. Proper pies with short crust pastry all round, not as i would often see, a stew with a lid. The full English is a delight to behold and kept us going the whole day, warning. Do not eat the Full English and try to walk up hill. You have been warned ! We will be back again.
Stayed here for 1 night on Saturday 6th November 2021. The room was lovely and cosy and even provided tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We arrived early and the hosts had no problems letting us in our room (they even put the heating on for us!). The Bar area has a roaring real fire and is a real country pub. The food and hosts are exceptional! I would defo recommend the award winning Lamb pie. Full english breakfast in the morning included in the price was again exceptional. Cannot recommend this place enough and would definitely love to stay here again.
Walked over the Dales from Settle, and received a warm, friendly reception on arrival, despite my damp state (it had been raining all afternoon). Room cosy and comfortable. Excellent dinner and a good selection of local ales. Super breakfast! Great location for exploring Littondale.
We were only here for one night but would definitely return. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable. We didn't eat there as Sunday service finished at 5 which was too early for us but the food gets rave reviews and they were kept busy right up to 5. They were also very accommodating for some people who arrived slightly later. It's set in a beautiful area, with stunning scenery, and is surrounded by great walks. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the Dales.
Nice little Inn in the middle of nowhere (that's a good thing!) in the Yorkshire Dales. Great scenery and walks right out go the door!! Friendly staff...very accommodating (provided sausages for our pup's breakfast), good menu tasty food. Rooms are on the small side...to be expected from an old traditional Inn!
We had a lovely stay. Travelling with a one year old, and there was plenty of space in the family room for him to crawl about. The room was clean, warm and full of character. Hosts were really friendly and welcoming. The food was brilliant, especially the steak pie.
Perfectly lovy. Warm welcome great fire and superb food.

very traditional pub with a pleasant atmosphere. Rooms small but comfortable but could have been warmer at times even though only mid september. Unfortunately bed was left unmade on our second day.
Bar was very compact although that led to a good atmosphere. Food was very good with prompt service.
Overall a pleasant stay and we would be happy to stay there again.
The hotel was very nice and we were upgraded to the family room for free! Lovely hosts, brilliant location, really nice food and very comfortable room.
Wonderful place with scenery all around. Hosts were brilliant. Beds very comfortable and the food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quite holiday and who loves nature.
We really enjoyed our stay. Every aspect was first class from the moment we arrived until we left. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We'll be going back.
Great pub, good food, friendly staff and patrons. A little gem in the middle of the Dales.

Very quiet area. Good views
Compact room with little space around the bed to change. Strangely enough there was no TV or wi-fi in room either. Bathroom had quite a few cobwebs and shower could have been cleaner. Good food only spoilt by locals who seemed to use bad language all evening even when there were younger children in. Don’t want to listen to it myself either.
