My wife and I stayed at the Kunken Lodge along our travels around the beautiful country of Costa Rica. The property grounds are picturesque and perfectly manicured, the food was delicious, and Elian and Pierre were amazing hosts that went above and beyond to make sure everything about our stay was perfect. There is a hiking trail on site with some great viewpoints of the bay and unique wildlife. There is also a very nice pool, a private beach, a frog garden, and the property is extremely peaceful and completely private. There were kayaks on site that were complimentary for guests at the lodge and we rented jet skis and had a great time cruising around the calm peaceful waters of Golfo Dulce. We also mentioned to Elian that we were interested in trying to see Humpback Whales while in the area and he set us up with a great guide named Bolo who was very nice and fun and was also very informative and passionate about animals. He picked us up by boat on the property and took us out into the Gulf where we saw a bunch of Dolphins and had 2 separate Humpback Whale encounters. My wife and I are both animal lovers and seeing Humpback Whales in their natural habitat was an experience we will never forget. Pierre constantly went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of with food, drinks, entertainment, etc., the hospitality was second to none. Kunken Lodge is definitely a 5 star experience, our only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. We will definitely be back soon!

Insgesamt ein wirklich schönes Hotel in traumhafter Lage. Unser Zimmer hatte einen wunderschönen Blick aufs Meer. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Ansonsten wirkte der Service eher unmotiviert. Obwohl es sehr ruhig im Hotel war, waren die Bedienung bei den Mahlzeiten manchmal längere Zeit nicht anwesend. Leider waren die Mahlzeiten eher unterdurchschnittlich. Das Abendessen war leider das schlechteste, das wir bisher in Costa Rica hatten. Fisch mit einen halbrohen Backkartoffel und drei Scheiben(!) Gemüse waren wirklich enttäuschend für den aufgerufenen Preis. Viel Potenzial, das leider im Moment nicht genutzt wird.
