The room wasnt cleaned thoroughly. Some used items were still staying in the bathroom and on bed. And the bet sheet wasnt renewed. Water pressure was low so you dont expect to enjoy your showering. P.s. Keep your property carefully, cos I lost 300 USD.

Booked 2 night stay at Shadow Angkor Villa. Arrived to find the room was on the fourth floor and no lift. The room was clean but fairly spartan but they did provide a couple of complimentary bottles of water. The door of the curved shower was missing and I could not get the TV to work. The air conditioner and Fridge did work but only when the key card was in the slot. As a consequence the room was hot when I arrived and did not run if I wasn't in the room. The bed was clean but very firm and it was very difficult to sleep. On returning from a long hot day of temple viewing was not impressed when housekeeping removed my sneakers because they thought I had checked out. I was so un-impressed by all of this that I did check out and spent a much more comfortable night at another hotel. I would not return to or recommend this hotel.

Great service and location

Info provided by website to hotel had an issue as my name was provided with someone else's address, reference number and payment info. This meant we ended up with a standard room instead of a superior room for the first night however hotel did provide a superior room for nights 2 and 3 to correct the website error. Was very pleased with their service.

Das Hotel war sauber. Auch das Zimmer war sauber. Unsere Dusche hatte keine Tür. Und ab den 2. Abend war die Dusche verstopft. Haben ein neues Zimmer bekommen. Die Dusche hatte dann auch eine Tür. Service und Personal ist gut. Pool ist sehr klein und der Außenbereich ist ebenfalls kleiner als auf den Bildern. Ansonsten gute Öage und für den Preis vollkommen ok.

A good, clean, hotel but nothing fancy.

The Shadow Angkor Villa is a good hotel for the Siem Reap area. The location is good and is walkable to many restaurants and the attractions on Pub Street. Getting to Angkor Wat is also easy. The hotel is very dated and could use an update, but this is similar to other hotels I have seen in Siem Reap. The pool area is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, even to a native English speaker. I would recommend the Shadow Angkor Villa to anyone traveling to Siem Reap, but just don't expect Marriott level accommodations.

Good location and good service in an aging hotel

Hotel has good location, great service, across the river and walking distance to the town yet far enough away from pub street to stay quiet enough to sleep. While wiped, sanitary, and cleaned of grime - all the bathrooms are showing their age from leaky showers, tilting door frames, and all the soap dispensers not working. As in looking for over a dozen soap dispensers, none of them worked and have a water bottle filled with liquid soap next to non-functioning soap dispensers.

We couldn't recommend this hotel more!

We had such a fantastic stay at Shadow Angkor Villa that we stayed another two nights! The service was impeccable, the room was spacious, light, comfy and clean. A great location, within walking distance to Pub Street and the restaurants around there. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was decent, although there are lots of flies in the dining area which is outside. Was really nice to have a pool too. Wifi worked mainly in the lobby, patchy in the rooms.

Cuando llegamos el chico que nos recibió no sabía resolverse con el ingles y nos dio una llave de una habitación que estaba ocupada. Además eran dos pisos por escalera. Ese recibimiento fue muy traumático. Luego a la mañana siguiente todo se resolvió y esa pasó a ser una anecdota. El hotel está bueno pero no tiene ascensor.

Nice accommodation with excellent service. Picked up promptly at the airport and arranged for Angkor Wat tuk tuk for a couple of days. It is a reliable place to stay.

Hôtel bien placé et accueil chaleureux

Hôtel bien placé, calme, bien équipé (piscine...). Personnel très disponible et accueillant, sachant trouver des chauffeurs ou autres pour des excursions. Seul bémol, mais qui n'est pas déterminant: le jeune âge de certains membres du personnel de service qui ne sont pas assez professionnels pour l'entretien des chambres (lavabo bouché non débouché en dépit d'un signalement) ou peu à l'aise en anglais. Excellent séjour toutefois.

Quite comfortable and reasonable

It was quite comfortable and resonable place to stay. Every Tuktuk driver knows this place, so you don't need to explain to get there. It was quite close to Old market which is one of the most tourist places Siem Reap.

Hotel accueillant, bien situé.

Le personnel a tout fait pour rendre notre séjour agréable. Nous avons eu des problèmes avec le lavabo et la douche et ils ont immédiatement réagi pour les résoudre. il ne faut pas hésiter à les informer de tout problème. Le personnel est très réactif.

The staff tried really hard. They were very sweet but not exceptionally helpful like the other reviews mentioned. They don't have much info on the best tour deals or things to avoid. They do greet you with smiles and do everything they can (as far as what they understand). The full bar is stocked, but no one knows how to make a drink. This hotel could be something really great but there are many other discount rooms that are probably a better deal, mostly due to comfort. The wood work is stunning, the breakfast is tasty, the staff as accommodating as they are able. The beds are hard as rocks though and walking up 4 flights of stairs after exploring temples all day is really brutal. I could overlook a leaky shower an a bit of mold in the corner but uncomfortable beds really made the three nights we stayed tough to be ultra positive about. They were also quick to order massages for us but if you are a couple be prepared to have two giggling women who laugh at your behind, toot(I'm not joking), and talk to each other the entire time. Not really a romantic encounter but at $10 per person I still don't feel like it was a horrible value, just a funny and awkward experience.

A hidden, affordable gem

Shadow of Angkor 2 (there is also a 1) was a great find for our stay in Siem Reap. Hotel was clean, a great little pool, affordable same day laundry, service was kind and friendly & helpful in answering questions & arranging transport & tours. Although not in the old market area, it was nice to stay across the river from the noise but be within a short walk of the shopping & restaurants.
