Penkridge is a really interesting place to stay and take a break on a long journey. Very welcoming villager and quiet away from the main road. The room's TV did not work, and it was not clean. Part used complimentary shower gel was available however. The door handle to the room came off in my hand. 「Sadly this is a very old establishment and the decor reflects this. Thought I was back in the 80's. The beds were well used and sagged although the linen was fresh and clean. Good parking and staff pleasant.」

「Hottest day in May on record and the heating was on in my room. After speaking with staff three times and an hour and a half later, I was moved to another room. In spite of the wonderful advert featuring a restaurant I was told no kitchen tonight. Second room was very noisy overlooking the car park which doubles as a camping ground for motor homes, with ten present. No mattress cover and a very dirty mattress.
