What a lovely place, from the road it just looks like a pub but once you're in the car park you notice a nice old building further up which is the hotel side. Check-in was nice and smooth, the room was lovely, airy & clean and the bathroom was very nice. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant & polite. We had breakfast the the following morning and there was a good choice from the menu and all freshly cooked, also available was fresh juices, cereal's, yoghurts & fruits, what a great way to start the day. We would certainly use the Rd Lion again if the need ever arises.

When we arrived, the lady at the reception was very polite and pleasant. However, in the morning when we were leaving, the staff were quite unfriendly and rude. Later, when we contacted the hotel to explain what had happened, they tried to accuse us of having three people stay in a double room. We were honestly surprised, because it was the hotel that checked the three of us into a room with two beds in the first place, but we chose not to raise this issue at the time.
