Very nice hotel with a great view where I stayed. Seeing the Huangpu river daytime and night was magic. You pay for the breakfast, but they had everything for a reasonable price. Please visit the hairdresser on Pudong Avenues Metro Station 7B. An artist if you need a haircut.

The hotel is very old. The bathroom was full of mould around the tiles and the silicone in the shower. The floor in the rooms were visibly dirty and required vacuuming. The indoor pool is extremely outdated.The staff were lovely and helpful.

The reception staff was unfriendly and when you ask for help is like you are bothering them, they are mostly non English speakers which bothers me as they receive international clients. Their answer to everything is “I don’t know” My room was not being cleaned, the floors were not swept, the sheets were only changed when I was left with one day to leave Andy Chu, the restaurant manager is the only person who made my stay at this hotel bearable, he was kind and always tried his best to find way to make out breakfast pleasant

While planning trips around the world, this is the first, and hopefully last, time I've arrived at a Novotel (4 stars) and received such a rude welcome from the reception staff: no welcome greeting, completely unprepared to receive 24 people in 15 rooms. But the most offensive thing was that while I was speaking English, she responded to my guide in Chinese, and even though I said I only spoke English, she continued to converse in Chinese! When we were assigned the rooms, at least half smelled of smoke, and our rooms were all non-smoking. We managed to change three of them. Breakfast is on the 50th floor (a revolving restaurant), which is accessed via 2-3 elevators (depending on which one you take first). On the 48th floor, you have to make a mandatory elevator change to reach the 50th, which involves a walk through the desolate area of ​​the floor. Breakfast is quite good, but poorly organized, so you have to go around the restaurant every time you want something. Rooms are spacious but dated, with only one USB port hidden next to the TV, which doesn't charge phones properly. The bathroom is a good size, but could use a makeover. Finally, the last sore point is the pool: nice size, beautiful view, but the outside temperature is like a refrigerator... When you leave, they obviously say goodbye without thanking you for being there...I asked to speak to the hotel manager, who, of course, made sure not to show up.
