An excellent hotel set in a lovely green campus in the centre of the city. Staff were helpful and the room was very comfortable. The breakfast spread was a particular favourite.

Historic landmark

Hidden gem in great neighbourhood. The rooms may be up for renovation soon, but they are still comfortable enough. Great place overall and a place of historical significance.

Art deco hotel in a middle of a peacefull garden

We got an upgrade to the executive wing, what a treat, thank you so much! The location is stunning, and the garden around the hotel gives a very peacefull feeling in the middle of the busy city. Very good breakfast, worth the money.

Really great hotel with a rich history in a convenient location. Appreciated the free shuttle inside the hotel complex during the summer heat. The room was spacious and well maintained. Gorgeous architecture and beautiful gardens. Glad we stayed here instead of one of those hotels in a skyscraper. Breakfast could be better.

Breakfast is mediocre. The room size and the extra bathroom is really great. House keeping could have been a little better. Bed and bedsheets are really comfortable. Certain parts of the room n hotel is a bit worn out but overall happy with the room and would recommend this hotel. The property is beautiful.

The service is so good, the staff were so helpful - my phone number is a foreign number that I wasn’t able to receive calls from local numbers, and the staff helped me out in contacting the delivery drivers and taxi drivers

I booked a room with 2 breakfast. They try to charge me for additional breakfast… an upsell strategy. Breakfast was good. I will never stay there again because I felt was tired to be overcharged. I had to show proof that I have reservation from Expedia that includes 2 breakfast and they insisted to call and verify with Expedia. The front desk need to learn how to dear customer. I’ll stick to the Marriott brand hotels since they are better trained I guess

Excellent hotel with garden park

The hotel is amazing. Not only in good location, but also there’s a quite big and very beautiful garden park. Walking around park , you will see several unique old buildings. All staffs are very helpful . One bedroom suite is spacious and clean. Club privileges are really beyond my expectations: there are lots of varieties of afternoon tea selection and happy hours food buffet selection . One time complimentary use Mini Bar for each stay . Anyway , I am impressed on the hotel and my family had very wonderful time during staying in the hotel . Very appreciated.

Oasis in the middle of the city

Ruijin hotel is one of the classic historical hotel in Shanghai located in one of the most prestigious addresses, the formal French concession. Despite the convenient location, it’s surrounded by green space in a park like environment, truly an oasis in the middle of large busy city. The staff is extremely polite, professional, and attentive. The rooms are classic, spacious, and large. The only slight disappointment the hotel restaurant, Xin yuan Lou. The restaurant is beautiful, with excellent service, but the food is below the quality of typical Shanghai restaurants.

Lacking Management

Quite a disappointing and bizarre experience for IC global standards. Hotel was a surprise given it’s size and beautiful gardens are right in the middle of Shanghai but service and cleanliness were poor. Felt like the place was being run by a lazy General Manager who had let things go.

Stay away from this one

The room had a strong musty smell and there was a leak under the sink. After a few days of staying, I developed a rash and cough. But the hotel management's subsequent excuse was: "The humidity in Shanghai is high and the weather is hot, which is normal for this time of year." They completely shirked their responsibility for routine maintenance. Although the restaurant staff and front desk staff were very nice, it was not enough to offset the discomfort during and after the stay.
