I have always wanted to do large format photography, but the cost for the cameras are somewhat prohibitive for me. But I believe that if I have the will, I can do it. So I have been hacking this by stitching 7D captures together for a view which is beyond which a wide angle lens can capture. This one shows the view from SML Universe HKG, and is the subject for my 寧 Serenity photography series. While the single frame captures can also cover so much, by panning the camera in portrait mode set to 17mm focal length, I am able to cover a large area of the sky as well as the sea. The sea tiling is imperfect, because it moves. This done handheld, so the seams might not be perfect. Also my window does not open as wide as it could, so I actually had to use two different windows to get this. I wish that I can get roof access but unfortunately not. I would consider going to up to the mountain next to me to see if I can get a better view in the future. Room was clean, staff was great, food options were incredible, excellent stay! The pools were all empty (including at other hotels) because of the offseason, but other than that, would love to come back! Everyone was extremely kind and the food was delicious!
