Perfect location for Seoul home base

Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Secure and safe building. Great location, easy to get to and from all the great sights in Seoul. Busy popular and cool shopping street. Perfect home base for our stay. We stayed in 815, room was just the right size for what we needed, clean and quiet.

This is my 5th time staying here (in 3 trips to Seoul) and I'd stay here again! 3 minute walk from Myeongdong station (and bus 6001 & 6015 if you plan on taking bus to Inchon airport), several steps from Myeongdong street, excellent location! Staff (and owner) are professional & very helpful. Rooms are standard for this area (which is small for us). Compare to my 1st time staying here 5 years ago, the property is getting older, but it's still very well kept and clean. Definitely would stay here again next time we're in Seoul!

Only thing good is location. Room smelled like sewer and was full of fruit flies, walls were paper thin and I could hear yelling. Ended up booking another hotel And not sleeping any nights here. No refunds available. Would not reccomend

Noisy but good location

Small double room. Walls very thin and small window into corridor had no curtain so room always lit. Some stains on bedding and extremely small towels. Very good location in Myeongdong near great restaurants/shoppings but not many bars nearby.

-This property is just on one floor but its pretty quiet despite it being right on myeondong. -The building entrance is on the left side ( we got confused and went straight and went to the right side of the building ). There's a concierge at the entrance of actual hotel building. -The hotel check in was pretty good too. Front desk speaks fluent English. - Take away is that wifi only works for one device. Wifi isn't great so make sure you have data. -Lastly, it is true that rooms are cramped. It's not great for people planning to overly shop and keep opening their luggages. Tip: Pack it up before the last day and have everything you think you want.

The location of this guest house is superb – easy to find, near to the subway and within walking distance from everything. The bespectacled security guard at the building entrance was also very polite. Although the room is not spacious, it was larger than the one at Step Inn Myeongdong, a similarly budget-style hostel I previously stayed. The room here is equipped with some amenities like smart TV, hair dryer, etc. However, there were only two electrical sockets in the whole room. Shampoo and shower gel were of a good quality but the water temperature tends to fluctuate almost every time we take a bath. The provided towels are also very small. Sound insulation wasn’t great and staying in one of the middle rooms get a tad noisy. Ventilation was minimal unless you get a room with a window. AC remote wasn’t provided in the room due to the cool weather in March - we were only told we need to ask for it upon inquiring. Oh, and it’s 10K won for an extra pillow if you need one. The staff speaks excellent English and were helpful in answering all our queries, although the rules here are pretty strict – no smoking and no using of common area facilities after 10pm. Non-smokers like me will delight in the former, but the latter is a deal breaker for me and my gf. It’s a chore to eat in a small, poorly ventilated room with barely a table and only one chair.

Stayed in the bunk bed rooms and had my best sleep of the year. The bed and the heavy comforter were really comfortable. I spoke Korean with the staff but I could see they were very proficient at helping other guests in English. Prime location.

Perfect location

The check-in was quick and the guy explained it quiet clear. The room and bed are comfortable. The bathroon is small but understandable as it is a guess house so i didnt bothered much. Location is perfect eady yo get around in buzzing myeondong. The most important its only few steps to get to incheon airport bus stop. So love it my staying there. Definitely will return

Review on Sunshine Myeongdong

Positive: 1) Leo attended to us upon checking in, explained the house rules and answered our questions patiently. Most important, he greeted us with a sunshine smile. Excellent service! 2) There are stove, microwave and coffee machine in the general area and can cook your own food. Water dispenser on the 7th and 8th floor. Washing machine is available but restricted to certain hours. 3) Tim Ho Wan in the same building. Negative: 1) Bed was slant and not comfortable to sleep. 2 ) Shower temperature not consistent and had to adjust throughout my shower. Shower holder was not placed at the correct condition nor does it have any rotating position feature.. 3) New Toilet paper was not placed at the main area on the remaining days of our stay. Left only remaining ones left from other rooms. 4) Housekeeping service every 3 days and guest has to request for it. 5) We booked a room with windows but the blind is spoilt. Guests wiil have to DIY. $90 per night. If you do not mind all these, then the location is a plus point with subway just a 5 mins walk and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and street food nearby the guesthouse.

Overall, the hotel was great. The only issue was a slight sewer smell coming from the toilet, but simply closing the bathroom door solved the problem, so it wasn’t a major concern. The heating was excellent during the winter. There was one night when it didn’t seem to be working properly, but the staff quickly provided an external heater, which I really appreciated. The WiFi was generally very good. I did experience an issue one night during a Zoom call, but I was able to use the connection in the common area. The staff also helped resolve the issue in my room afterward, so everything turned out fine. The staff were very nice and friendly throughout my stay. I would definitely come back to this hotel when I return. I had previously stayed at another hotel, but I decided to try this one instead, and I really enjoyed myself. It was a great choice, and I will happily stay here again the next time I’m in Seoul.

沒有提供牙刷！跟他們買要10000韓幣，我自己去便利商店買3000韓幣。 房間裡有很多小蒼蠅，但不叮人那種。 窗戶已關，空調沒有開，房間我沒有聞到臭味，哪裡那麼多小蒼蠅，應覺好不舒服。 不會有人每天給你收拾房間，垃圾滿要自己倒。 很容易聽到隔壁房的聲音。 飯店在明洞購買街旁邊而已。 5分鐘到地鐵站。
