"We were a little disappointed with our king room.Having stayed at the Gideon many times in the past, we paid extra for the deluxe but a blank wall w just nails and no painting. Also a table and chairs were missing l"

"Frankly the hotel is a little dated. But the rooms were very comfortable and meticulously clean. And the location is hard to beat. Also ample parking. The two young ladies working the Front Desk on both evenings we stayed there were exceptionally helpful. We followed their dining recommendations and they were spot on. Also extremely helpful when making transportation arrangements around town. Courteous and knowledgeable. an excellent experience and would stay there again."

"The room was average, definitely could have been cleaner with a full compliment of bar soap, etc. The staff on the hotel end were peasant and cordial. The breakfast was terrible! the buffet was in some cases cold (I.e. scrambled eggs), luke warm (I.. sausage, bacon), tomato juice watered down, french toast cold and the price for this $23 down from $26 because I am a senior. Stewart's across the street on Sunday morning had a hot sausage & egg breakfast sandwich with a blueberry muffin for just over $8. The bar food Friday evening was okay, however draft beer for $8 that was not nice and cold does not cut it in my mind. I get the Holiday Inn takes advantage of the big crowds in Saratoga because of the horse racing, but that highly inflated price does not reflect well on what I received back. Not very happy!"

"Elegant classic style hotel. Attentive staff. Small annoyances, bulb was out in my tea daunt lamp. No bathroom ammeneties beyond the basics. I’m used to tooth brush kit, shaving kit etc at this price. I sent my boots down to be shined in the evening. They promised them back by 11:00 AM. Didn’t happen. I finally called to enquire and it hadn’t been handled. If I was informed I would have handled it in my own. May or may not return next year may try Batcheller Mansion"
