We loved staying in amoudi bay, the restaurants around, the sunset view and going to the rocky swim spot was all awesome. Going up and down the stairs for Oia though is a pretty hassle even if you are young though.

We stayed here in May 2025. The staff was amazing, very helpful and accommodating to our needs. The breakfast was great. And of course the views were stunning! This place is unlike any place we have stayed before! Lots of stairs to get to our stay but other than that there is not one negative things I can say about the place.

It’s close to OIA village and castle. One needs to have strong legs to walk but very clean, staff are helpful and friendly. Couple good restaurants close but anyways nothing is too far for a car in Santorini

Downhill is an superview ocean.

That hotel is an amazing view among lava mountain and ocean cove. Staffs are friendly. Breakfasts are anthetic Greek foods which are superior! Thank for kind!

Our host Chris gave us a good walkthrough, along with some historical information about Ammoudi Bay. He was an inobtrusive host, but always available when needed. Our housekeeper each day was polite and efficient. Our cave room, with lounge, dual bathroom and kitchette was perfect. The rooftop plunge pool was a great touch for watching the famous Oia sunsets. Oia and Ammoudi Bay are not cheap places to eat, so be mindful that if the 4 restaurants down on the waterfront start hitting the hip pocket, youll need to venture up the hill. I wouldnt recommend a family or kids, its an adult location. All in all, very happy with our experience.

Upon arrival to Oia, Nikos from Secret Gem, met us and guided us to our room. He was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. Every morning we woke up to our breakfast basket at our window and they were delicious. He gave us many pointers on how to navigate and tour the island, which helped us bypass all the busy tourism/cruisers traffic. We had an amazing time! Thank you for making our visit special!

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very large, clean and just as pictured. The breakfast every morning was great and loved that it was delivered to your window. The check in process and accessing the property was a little confusing. However the owner was able to contact us and support immediately.

Stunning sunset views! We loved our suite with the jacuzzi tub on the balcony that we used every night for sunset :). Breakfast was waiting for us every morning on the balcony as well which we really enjoyed! Staff were excellent! Quick to respond and provide any items we needed. Overall an amazing stay and experience! We hope to come back one day and will be recommending this place to our family and friends! The only thing that is important to know, which was not an issue for us, is the walk up to Oia. It isn’t far but it can be a challenge for many.

There is no word to describe the dazzlement that is Ammoudi Bay for the eyes, at both sunset and sunrise. And there is no better place than the panoramic suite to enjoy it. From the private terrace or the rooftop jacuzzi, the view is incredible. The interior is very nicely arranged and contains all the comforts necessary for an excellent and long stay. The restaurants below are top-notch. Take the opportunity to stroll along the coast, after Dimitri’s tavern. Finally, it is necessary to mention the kindness and availability of the manager. Friendly, attentive, and very professional. A 10/10 for him, as well as for the place. An unforgettable stay.

Beautiful room suit young people

Good side - room is spacious, nicely decorated and the view on the balcony is fantastic. Breakfast is generous and fresh. Downside - different from the description on the website, parking is quite a long way from the hotel. In addition, there are lots of stairs from the drop-off (bottom of the bay) to our room (on the cliff) with lots of narrow steps. You need to be very strong. In addition, room cleaning is upon request only. Nicolas is very helpful.

We absolutely loved Secret Gems Suites and the staff. Nikos was attentive, fast, and very helpful. The view from our suite was picture perfect. Our one complaint was the donkey poop so close to the suites. We were prepared for the almost 300 stairs leading up the Oia and honestly, those were not even that bad. The problem was the donkeys that they have on the stairs for people to ride to the top. We were unaware of this circumstance and the fact that they poop all over the stairs. We didn’t even want to bring our shoes into the suite because we were nervous about the cleanliness of our shoes. Overall, the suite itself was fantastic. Just wish I knew about the donkeys prior to booking.

I did have a several challenges with the booking and with communication to meet someone to find this place, and with someone dropping the ball on not including the baby cot that was requested at booking. This all seems to have been the fault of the management office. However, I felt compelled to leave a review for Nikos, our concierge/contact during our stay. He completely blew us away with the beyond 5-star service he provided. He bent over backwards and more (metaphorically speaking) to not only correct the mistakes of the management office (including spending hours of his time at 11pm driving across the island to get a baby cot for us), but also solve every other problem we had. However highly I speak of him, he deserves higher praise still, and he made our stay truly memorable and remarkable. We've never experienced service coming anywhere close to as good as what Nikos provided. Would very much love to stay here again if he were to still be the concierge. The room was also very nice and clean, and we liked that the hot (warm) tub was much more private than many on the island.

My husband and I were so excited for our honeymoon we booked a room with a sauna and tub. Unfortunately when we got there they didn’t give us our room, no explanation and no refund. The staff working there everyday was really nice and helpful. However we had some complaints, the towels smell like pee. The drain was super clogged so you would be standing in a pool of water while showering. The views were great. Some of the other rooms looked nicer. I wish they would have put us in our original room we booked as it had more amenities. Chris was hard to reach and again he did not offer any refunds, especially since we left the last few days to go elsewhere. Nor upon research does it say Santorini closes after Nov 1st. We booked this location because Dimitris (restaurant ) was in the bay as well. So we intended to get meals down there as it was highly recommended. The donkeys that were advertised are also not there after Nov 1st. So get ready to walk up 300 steep stairs a day.

This is a cute and comfortable boutique apart-hotel style property. There were great views of the water and the sunset from my room! There are several steps that you have to take to go down and then up to the property for drop off, so not advisable for those with challenges walking stairs of various heights. Most places in Santorini do only have stairs to access though. The tub in the bedroom was a jacuzzi bathtub that I just ended up not having time to use. One minor issue I had was the shower handle coming off and water coming out onto the floor when using the top water stream option. I was greeted at the taxi drop off and then the host, Nikolas, helped me with my luggage to the suite and then I just went through check in items with him there at the suite. There did not appear to be any lobby area. Nikolas was also very helpful in arranging for taxis, which needed to be called in advance since rides didn’t frequent that area. You can walk up to the main Oia city area, but donkeys/mules transport people on occasion, the stairs are inconsistent and can also be slippery - just taking a taxi is also an option. The rooftop was very nice. Tha safe is small and not standard size. For reference, it wouldn’t fit a shoe, but could fit a passport and oversized headphones.

Very pretty little suite. Clean. Great breakfast in the morning. Sabi was very attentive. Keep in mind that in order to go to Oia, there are 250 steps to climb, every time. If you’re ok with that. This is a beautiful location.

Secret Gem is a modernized rustic hotel room that offered all the amenities we needed. The hotel’s rustic charm and its magnificent, jaw-dropping surroundings amazed me everyday.
