My favorite place to stay in Santa Fe! Casual, friendly, bar on site, food trailer on site, plenty of areas to sit outdoors (pool, green house, fire pit, and more. )Live music 2 of the nights we were there. Away from the tourist fray, but close in .
We've stayed at El Rey off and on for over 30 years. It's retained its friendly, resort atmosphere. The large hot tub and swimming pool are well maintained. My favorite place to stay in Santa Fe.
Easy check-in and great room. Super place if you’re traveling with pets: single story, lots of green space and the room has tile floors. Delicious margarita and the green chili smash burger at the food truck was awesome!
I am giving it 4 stars because it is a clean historic motel with mostly beautiful grounds. That said, the pillows were small, lumpy, uncomfortable and cheap. Next time we stay, we will bring our own pillows.
The pool was poorly maintained, but rooms were both super clean and spacious. Overall, very artistic property with good vibes. Staff was generally great, but bar staff was a little cliquey.
Weather wasnt well enough to use the pool, parking could be a little confusing. The bar was great, friendly staff, room was comfortable

I loved the vibe of the place. The pics are a bit deceiving of what the rooms are like. It’s still an old motel with some updates. They could get quieter AC units.
The pool was great but it closes so early!
El Rey is a beautiful property that truly encourages you to take life slow and relax. The room was very spacious and well decorated, and the amenities were great. They have a food truck where you can grab a bite to eat in the mornings if you’re not wanting to go far, and a large lawn where you can sit and enjoy the serene environment. Overall a very nice stay and I will definitely be coming back to this hotel the next time that I’m in Santa Fe.

Liked: Amenities
I perhaps did not have a room that represented the hotel as a whole. Like many nice Mexican hotels the El Rey was very nicely designed with several courtyards, a "swim club" area, and winding passageways with benches and gardened paths. But my room was off in a corner of the "Alamo plaza" which was not as nicely maintained as the rest of the grounds - it was dark and for me that area and the room felt dreary.
I loved this vintage but thoughtfully restored adobe motel on a main boulevard a few miles from downtown Santa Fe. My impeccably clean room had burnished tile floors, dark wood beams and mosaics inlaid in the walls. While the building has some history, all outlets and devices were modern and worked fine. The vibe is laid back and family friendly. Breakfast and dinner are provided by a food truck with New Mexican tacos and other local dishes. The staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent value and a fine way to get into Santa Fe style.

Great place to stay. Great atmosphere, clean rooms, great staff, very peaceful. Would stay here again.
The rooms are well-appointed and quiet, and the property grounds are beautiful with many sitting areas around gardens, fountains and mature trees. It is an incredible oasis along historic Route 66, minutes away from all the cultural sites and restaurants.
I liked the architecture of the property, the pool, and the location to downtown. However, I didn’t like that there wasn’t a microwave provided in the room — there was a communal space that had one. Also, accessing a parking space and use for guests was bad! It seemed like some non-guests took parking spaces; and a few guests took up 1.5 to 2 parking slots; perhaps, property could manage parking space usage a bit better.
El Rey Court is one of those special places you just happen across on occassion. This was just a one night stay during a road trip, and it's a gem. The grounds are beautiful and the people working in the food truck were amazing. It was a nostalgic experience for me, and whenever I'm in, or going through Santa Fe again, this is where I'll be.
