Overbooking is the strategy

After a 13 hour trip, we arrived at a place that was overbooked. An alternative hotel was offered 3 km up the hills, so clearly not a 'walk to the beach' anymore. Hotel staff was OK, but young. Manager on the phone did not talk to us, but to the girl instead. We were offered dinner as a compensation, but we had to stay elsewhere. Note: we were not hungry and had other dinner plans for the next night... No financial compensation offered, but only free dinner at the hotel that we could not stay in. Arriving at the alternative place gave us the impression that this happened (much) more often... Note: we were supposed to be contacted about our proposal of financial compensation by the manager the next day, but this did not happen. Note; the review of the room in the hotel is not valid since we did not get one.

Hübsches Hotel direkt am Meer.

Da wir viele Ausflüge gemacht haben und leider nur eine Woche da waren, haben wir nicht alle Einrichtungen genutzt (Welness usw.)

Beautful Hotel on the coast

This is a beautiful hotel, with a range of pools and an opportunity to swim in the sea. Breakfast overlooking the sea was spectacular. Rooms are lovely and we made the most of the cooking facilities. Staff were courteous and friendly. A lovely week.

Hotel an ruhiger Lage direkt am Meer

Wir haben ein Auto gemietet am Flughafen und waren somit sehr unabhängig. Wir haben Funchal besucht, die Gärten, sind gewandert den Lewadas entlang und auf dem Pico Arieiro…unendliche Treppen auf und ab. Die Blumen und Pflanzenreiche Landschaft sowie die wilde Küste hat uns sehr gefallen. In Porto Moniz und Garajau haben wir gebadet.

Sensationeller Ausblick auf das Meer. Frühstück etwas zu sehr auf Masse gemacht. Zuviel Gedränge bzw. hohes Aufkommen im Frühstücksraum.

Nice hotel but lacks atmosphere

This hotel was spotless and rooms were spacious and comfortable. All staff were incredibly polite and helpful. The outdoor and indoor pools and pool areas are extremely well maintained and there were plenty of sunbeds for all guests. The steakhouse restaurant food was good. The only negative was that there was a lack of general atmosphere.

Tolle Lage - super Blick übers Meer!

Das Frühstücksbuffet im Nachbarhotel war sehr mäßig!! ansonsten gab es für uns nichts zu Meckern...!! Es war für uns für diese 1 Woche alles bestens.

Cais de Oliveira and Royal orchid

Excellent stay first at the Cais de Oliveira and after two nights due yo a problem in our room we were moved yo the Royal Orchid. All staff excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast okay but not a lot of choice. Stunning views and use of all hotels

Un hotel qui correspond exactement aux avis

Après notre séjour à Madère et en ayant fait le tour de l'ile surement le meilleur emplacement avec un accès direct sur la mer, piscine, et les prestations des deux hotels qui font parti du même groupe. entre l'areoport et Funchal point de départ Idéal pour toutes les excursions. Super...
