"Beautiful, fun place to stay for our family vacation with our adult kids. This hotel surpassed my expectations. It was clean and smelled amazing everywhere you went. Rooms were gorgeous & comfortable. Ocean was a beautiful temperature & seaweed free, at least at this time of year (Feb). Pools were clean & beautiful, but could be a bit warmer, for my liking. They had more activities & fun things to do than I expected! Only thing missing that we would have liked was tennis or pickleball courts. Restaurants were all good- especially loved the French restaurant (chez rose), the Mediterranean restaurant above the main pool (Huzur) and the Asian hibachi at Seishin. Also really enjoyed food at the buffet, sports bar and Italian restaurant too! Really enjoyed hydrotherapy & a great massage at the beautiful spa! Beach was gorgeous & service there was great! Shows we saw at night were surprisingly great! Michael Jackson show was way beyond any others we’ve seen. And karaoke, dj parties & nightclub were lots of fun too, with great music. Foam party in pool was fun too. Lobby bar & aqua club lounge bar made great drinks for us every night. Special thanks to Angelo, our great beach server, who went above and beyond to keep our beach days comfortable & happy. Also thanks to our butler Smerlyn, who was always happy & eager to help with anything we needed. Staff here are all well-trained to be very friendly & customer service oriented. Would love to return! "

"Amenities were great, kids loved the drop off and the water park. The staff were kind and friendly. Shuttle drivers were amazing and so professional. Food was good especially loved the breakfast options! Restaurants were a nice way to switch things up! Rooms were cleaned very well. Housekeeping was amazing. We would definitely come back! "

"Excellence El Carmen - Dominican Republic is a wonderful choice for an all-inclusive luxury vacation. It is nicely designed and organized so that you can be either active day and night, or alternatively, nice and quiet. The rooms are large and have beautiful balconies to enjoy. The beach is clean and easy to walk for several km in either direction. The food in the lunch and dinner restaurants is good, not great. The breakfast buffet is extensive with a huge variety available for you to enjoy. The Club pools are nice and quiet, while the main pool and beach are very active. We give a special shoutout to Jerson, bartending at the Club Pool. A major shoutout also goes to our guest services host Marleny. Marleny looked after anything that we needed during our stay, and made the vacation that much more enjoyable. She is an invaluable resource. This was our first experience at an Excellence property, and we look forward to many more in the future!"
