"Beautiful Beach front property steps from the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and the Wharf! Rooms were exceptionally clean and room was beach front with a balcony. At night there were lounge chairs and firepits to relax at. We spent 2 nights and just hearing the waves hitting the beach was awesome! Great place to relax, rewind, or even head to the boardwalk for fun for adults and kids! Would recommend adults time only or familys with kids."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Santa Cruz by IHG
6/10 Okay
"Location looks clean, like either new or newly remodeled.
Parking garage is a bit built weird. Some parking spaces had the actual column within the space. Some huge spaces are marked compact. And driving around garage had weird turns.
One of the elevators shakes a bit, that’s why I’m thinking building was remodeled, vs. newly built. It shakes while closing and makes this loud noise.
Breakfast is the only thing I was hoping for better. The ‘hot’ foods were actually cold. Coffee tastes very watered down. The sausage/turkey sausage has a weird taste to it. I’m guessing it was all frozen items (which is ok), but not heated up enough. And after heated, it wasn’t kept warm enough on serving to table.
Otherwise, it was a really nice stay. The kids were really looking forward to breakfast. They loved the pool!"
"The infomation about the hotel said there was a breakfast buffet. There isn't. Parking was pricey and tho our car was registered, I got a parking ticket (which was discharged by staff.)"
"Check in was a pleasure with the wonderful lady working around 6pm on 25th May - she needs a pay rise and an extra holiday day she was so pleasant and friendly and asset to the place. The room was comfortable and clean, parking in the courtyard was easy and the position of our room meant it was very quiet. Would stay again. Many thanks"
