The man at the front desk is amazing, and the housekeeping staff we interacted with were very sweet and friendly as well. The condition of the hotel, however, is not the best. It has charming features, but it’s minimalistic and it has seen better days. This is an ok option if you are looking for a budget option, and the pluses are that it’s safe, has AC, hot water, is next to a supermarket that’s open 24/7, and you can walk to the beach. But you only get two small soap bars, two towels, the sheets were washed but with old stains, the windows are poorly insulated and the curtains are thin, so it’s noisy in the morning, and you don’t get coffee, nor tea. The man at the front desk brought us iced water, though. So if you can’t afford other options, you’ll be ok here but it won’t be a luxurious vacation by any means.

The owner of the hotel, Christopher is incredible. From the moment I arrived he felt like a long lost uncle. On the way to the hotel I left my very valuable backpack in the taxi and Christopher drove me all the way back to the airport to look for the driver. He went above and beyond. I'd gladly stay here again.

Well, location was good. There were some problems; -the international hotel bar opened at 5 PM -Not only was food limited no breakfast not even a vending machine to buy a soda nor water, yes, close to a store was charged high American prices -Mildew in the shower curtains, which obviously had not been changed in a long time -I was there three nights the bed got made, but the sheets and the pillows were never taken off and changed. How do I know that? from the stains that were already on the sheets and the pillowcases -The pillows are ridiculous. They’re quite large gave me a kink of my neck except for sleeping on my back and even then I felt like I was pushing my chin into my chest. -No shampoo, bar soap that was horrible. Couldnt wait to get to my next hotel so I could shower and get clean. -amenities, no water, except for some supplied in a plastic picnic jug and the spout was open when I got there, who knows what critters climbed into it -Paint peeling on the walls -the pictures are beautiful but most of the plants if not, all of them are artificial plants -Limited water pressure, hot water occasionally -It is true you get what you pay for but at $130 a night anywhere at least expect some basic nice accommodations -Yes the owner was nice, but he is the only staff member. the other couple people that worked there cleaning the rooms really are not part of interaction with customers -had I seen the room before I paid for it I would’ve paid twice as much to be somewhere else.

La chambre était infectée de mini bibitte et l’hôtelier est venu mettre du Red dans ma chambre à 1h du matin à cause que j’ai vu plein de bibittes à l’intérieur de ma chambre, et il a dit c’était seulement que pour l’humidité, mais ce n’était pas cela les bébés montent sur les murs se cache en arrière du cadre et le plafond et tous les Fréchis, la peinture a été caillé, et c’est presque en train de tomber sur c’est un hôtel horrible et pourri

We arrived during a power brown out in the area which meant there was no power in the hotel. The gentleman who checked us in was as helpful as he could be despite the circumstances. The room was simple, but clean and the AC was more than adequate. Although I would suggest the owners invest in new mattresses and pillows. Ours were not comfortable. That said, the location of the hotel in a lively neighborhood near the beach and great restaurants, along with it's charming roof top terrace, makes it a great choice for a pre or post cruise stop off.

Classic, rustic hotel located conveniently in San Juan. Accomodations were minimal but you get what you pay for. Pillows were bricks, TV didn't work but it was a place to wash and rest. AC worked and staff was supportive.

Def a 2 star place. 2 parking spots where you're guaranteed to get bird poop all over your car. If you're short, make sure you get a room with shower opener NOT ON TOP of the showerhead.

This is a youth hostel masquerading as a hotel. It would be fine if it were cheap, but it was quite expensive. There was no hot water. The manager insisted that in fact there was and we just had to let the water run for a couple of minutes. After twenty minutes we gave up, and just took showers in cool water. Hallway was noisy. Room was very shabby. Soap dish hanging to the wall by a thread, water and mildew stains everywhere in the bathroom, an outdoor -looking spigot on the shower head. Window was made of metal slats that were light-proof -- no glass windows. Which means that you could either run the AC with no light in the room, or you could open the metal slats to the outside, which let in hot air. It was not possible to have it be cool in the room and see the outside. They charged me a thirty-five dollar fee for late check in. I could go on and on. This was a cheap hostel that is somehow pretending to be a mid-range hotel.
