The resort was an oasis in the heart of Rancho Bernardo. The feeling was that it was an iconic, staid, and tranquil property that combined with a spa and a golf course; truly a winning combination. If my wife and I return in December, we will enjoy spa amenities and I will play golf. The bathrooms had nice amenities, the mattress was firm and comfortable, and the room was indeed clean. The food was tasty and the menu had enough variety and was above par. My mains(swordfish) was cooked to perfection - Our salads could have been better. The Caesar dressing did not taste home made. The breakfast omelet was tasty and full of good ingredients incl. mushrooms The coffee was good tasting

The property itself is beautiful and the staff were wonderful. Our bartender Joe made great drinks and gave us the best service. My only complaint was our room. We stayed in a Garden View room and although the room was very clean, the room itself smelled very musty. It was hard to get past the smell even with turning on the air conditioner and trying to open the doors to air out the room.
