Lovely pub with rooms in a separate block. We ate in the pub with friends and enjoyed a Faboulous meal. The room we had was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Lovely couple who run it is a picturesque village.
Had a lovely time in a lovely quiet and peaceful village but close enough to Salisbury/New Forest for day trips…Nicky & Patrick are such friendly hosts plus their staff offer a great menu in a real family atmosphere, will definitely see them again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our stay was excellent,
Such a lovely pub/hotel.
The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The atmosphere was excellent and the food was very good too.
I’d highly recommend
Thank you very much
We had a wonderful stay. Room was absolutely lovely, great bathroom. Attention to detail was noticeable. Staff were very good. Lovely young waitress at dinner. The host was also amazing. Breakfast was one of the best we have had (and we have had a lot of breakfasts in the UK!) Would highly recommend!
Overall the place location and staff are great but on our visit a couple of things let the whole experience down.
On arrival the gentleman who dealt with us was either busy or not very good with customer service. The welcome on arrival was below a good standard. We wasn't advised about the Check out process ( we had to leave early) or WiFi. The room we were given had a few small issue's. Main door had a big gap so during the night a lot of light could be seen from the landing, the bathroom door wasn't easy to close all the way and when stood to use the toilet you have to lean to the side to avoid the ceiling. Apart from these few things the rooms are nice, clean and had a great view of the countryside.
With all that said the gentleman and lady that helped us through the evening and meal were outstanding. The food was great. All in all it was mostly enjoyable and we would consider going back.
Great accommodation and friendly staff. Quiet location and lovely back garden.
Only disappointment was that the restaurant is currently not open on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. So had to travel elsewhere for dinner.

Fabulous food
Dinner in the pub restaurant was fabulous and the service was really great!
Breakfast was fresh with lovely free range eggs
Room a bit tired - shelf had obviously come off wall in bathroom and wall not filled - an easy thing to fix!
Mirror above dressing table to suit a 6 foot man standing not for someone sitting at table so ended up sitting on floor in long mirror
Don't let this put you off thought - the rooms were comfortable and spotless clean
Service was excellent in the bar. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great.
Our room was clean and well appointed. Our only issue was that it was too hot. I’m sure this would not be a problem for most.
Breakfast was excellent. Great choice and change requests to the menu were accepted without comment.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
Rooms were not connected to the pub so were very quiet and didn’t smell “pubby” but were close enough to feel part of the main building.
Just a very friendly and welcoming but unobtrusive atmosphere which for a lone traveller counts for a lot.
Lovely small village pub with rooms, very quiet overnight. The room was well decorated, comfy bed with a fantastic bathroom including rain shower and roll top bath. Gluten free breakfast options were limited and would be the only thing that would make me hesitant about booking again, otherwise a truly great place to stay.
Our room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was clean but there was some peeling paint issue with the bathroom ceiling which needs attention, the facilities is the room are good for a short break. The staff are suberb and provide guests with excellent service, the food is devine both breakfast and dinner were perfectly presented and cooked. Will definitely be staying again!
I dont usually leave reviews as i am not easily impressed.
I spend about 50% of my time at work in hotels, so i've seen a few. Some good, Some terrible.
However the room i was given at the Kings Head was perfect in every way! Perfect condition, light and spacious, totally clean, extremely comfortable bed, nice views, big TV, tea, coffee, biscuits, sparkling and still water (this should be standard in all hotel rooms!). The bathroom was perfectly clean and the shower powerful.
Anyone who runs a hotel should spend a night here to see how its done.
The breakfast was great and an impressive modern twist on an English breakfast. If i could change one thing, i would make it a more traditional "fry-up".
