Last minute booking. Dog friendly inn. Paid £20 extra for the dog for 1 night. Nice room, restaurant has very good food. Breakfast was very good as well. Very friendly staff.
The staff were amazing, polite, attentive and friendly, the premises itself is very quaint, well put together and great value for money with top range food and service.
I would highly recommend StJohn Inn, it really was a delight to stay there, wasn’t aware of it until googled somewhere to stay because of a business trip and look forward to my next visit.

The breakfast was really nice and the poached eggs were cooked well but unfortunately the toast was incredibly hard to eat. I found it very difficult to even cut it with a knife which was such a shame.
Great room and very comfortable with all you need. Only thing, shower need looking at, very little water power! The staff and service in the bar, restaurant and for breakfast was excellent. Nice mrenu and stayed here few times abd ss ever the food is fantastic.
Our stay at this inn is very lovely! We had dinner at the pub beforehand and the food was really good. They also served 1 complimentary drink as we're staying in the inn for the night. The room was very cozy, clean, and beautiful! The inn is located in the middle of the national park so you can easily walk to a nearby path or drive for a short distance to other paths. I would definitely recommend!
We stayed at the inn for a family wedding in the village The food was good & staff very helpful
The stairs can be a problem if mobility issues

Quality of food lifts the experience of the stay
Food was excellent. Courtyard room was nice but not adequate for two people. Only one chair, very dim lighting, no shelf space esp in cramped wet room. Biggest problem was poor communication - internet a big stumbling block. Dining area chairs very uncomfortable and in breakfast area my partners chair had a huge nail sticking out of the seat- health and safety issue. Staff were responsive where they could help.
I had such a great stay here whilst attending a wedding at a near by venue. The room was clean and had everything you need. The staff are amazing and very accommodating. I had breakfast and dinner and must say the food was excellent! The wine selection is great and the steak I had was perfect. I would highly recommend anyone stay here.
Delightful! We stayed in the King John room and it was very spacious. Dinner served in our room was very tasty. Breakfast was delicious - and huge. It's a lovely little place. Bravo. King John Inn.
King John Inn is a warm and friendly place where the King room was boutique hotel standard including traditional freestanding bath. Located in a gorgeous little village. Food - I had dinner and breakfast - both were fabulous. Good wine list too. Everyone working here are committed to making sure you have a good experience - it's a gem. Will definitely stay here again. Countryside views around this location are amazing.
Very homely and lively pub, super friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. We felt very welcome and that extended to our dog too! A gem of a find.
Parking was a bit of an issue though but it was Sunday lunchtime when we arrived and I suppose that is to be expected.

A lovely place in much need of love, smelly drains , heating not working properly, a array of not loved areas and parts af furniture, food very good but not everything coming out at the same time.
Shower in our room all over the place the tap in the sink back to front and incredibly hot water.
I hope these points are taken as constructive comment because as I said it’s a beautiful site
Thanks
