Incessant very loud drumbeat from a nearby disco in the late evening prevented any prospect of sleep. Charging over £200/night for a room which has that problem is outrageous.

hotel very central and staff welcoming. However, servicing of room left much to be desired. On arrival, only one teabag between us and then realised in morning that we had only one towel. Would have expected room to be serviced in the morning but apart from replenishing the bottled water, teabags and milk not topped up, mugs and glasses not washed and bed unmade. Breakfast cold buffet items ok but coked food although tasty was fairly dried out.

Atmospheric inn located near the marketplace and high street shopping. Very helpful staff. The historic inn is very well maintained but halls are narrow and floors uneven reflecting its age. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is fine but basic and unfortunately the fixed showerhead is poorly situated unless you are very tall. An added handheld option for flexibility would be much better. There is a nice bar but no dinner service, although solid options are close by. All in all I enjoyed my overnight stay.
