"Great place for the price.
This spot is a nice alternative if you want to be away from the big all-inclusive resorts like Sandals. One thing to note: it’s located on the part of the beach where cruise ship passengers sometimes come for a few hours to rent chairs and umbrellas, so you’ll see some daytime traffic when ships are in port.
The only real drawback is the small red pop-up tent bar next door. They play music through a quality JBL speaker, so you’ll definitely hear the bass lines. That said, the music is actually pretty good, so it’s manageable. And the grill next to it is worth a stop — the BBQ chicken was excellent.
Inside the room, I wish the ceiling fans and lampshades had been dusted a bit better. Other than that, the property itself has a lovely exterior with beautiful mature plants and trees. There’s also a great covered outdoor eating area where you can bring back food from nearby and relax without even changing out of your swimwear.
Salt Plage and Starfish (the two food and drink spots at Saboney Beach Club) are both excellent if you order smart — the chicken, pork, and shrimp dishes were all great. And the “Kiss on the Lips” frozen drink is an 11 out of 10."
