Ursula and her sons were so welcoming and just lovely! The residence was in the perfect location to walk to everything (with great, cheap pizza next door). We will definitely stay again when in Roma.

I will be back to stay with Ursula and her son. They made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable and happy. They are the loveliest, most helpful, gorgeous people. We had a lovely big room with many beautiful touches. The breakfast was delicious and varied. We welcomed the aircon as it was 38 outside. The residence was spotlessly clean, the water was potable and there were snacks and drinks in the fridge. Ursula helped us with the baggage lost by the airline/airports, with transport, and with reassurance and support. Our 3-night stay was part of a longer 32-day trip and it was an absolute highlight - an oasis of calm, comfort, and care. Thank you so much to everyone at Residenza Gens Julia!

Very nice property and excellent service
We only stayed here for 1 night to catch our flight the next day. Easy short ride from Roma Termini (we could have walked but it was very hot at 2pm). Our host Ursula’s son welcomed us at the door. Very friendly and gave us a short overview of the general area, how to use the coffee machine (they have Lavazza!) Breakfast was great, many many options. Our room was huge with 2 full bathrooms, very clean, beds/pillows were super comfy and AC was great (2 zones), shower was excellent. Right next door is a highly rated pizza place (many variety at reasonable prices), a restaurant where they make fresh pasta daily. 2 convenience stores within the same block. Even though it’s a busy neighborhood, we did not hear any noise in our room, we slept really well. Location was perfect, almost all major tourist spots are within walking distance. Met Ursula when checking out, lovely person, very caring, and gave us detailed directions on where to get a taxi for the airport. This is a good base if you want to spend a few days in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I used this as our home base in Rome. We had an excellent experience. Ursula and her son were fantastic hosts and were very attentive. Ursula made us feel like family. The location was perfect and made the city very walkable. Don’t sleep on the pizza right next door downstairs and the homemade pasta restaurant a few doors down. We would not hesitate to return and stay at the residence again when we come back to Rome!

Wonderful stay!
Our stay at the Residenza Gens Julia was wonderful! It is located just perfectly and close to all of the major sights. Urszula, the host, was just amazing - very friendly and super helpful. She also provided a very nice breakfast in the morning - fresh bread and pastries from a bakery nearby, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. Everything was fresh and high quality. Our room (triple room) was big, clean and comfortable and even had two bathrooms, which is very rare in EU. I honestly won't stay anywhere else in Rome!

The property is in a perfect location for sight seeing. It's within walking distance to almost everything in central Rome. The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are spacious and quaint, the breakfast in the morning is perfect. I cannot say enough about the owner, Urszula, she's a wonderful, helpful and friendly person. 10 out of 10. I will stay here again and will recommended it to everyone staying in Rome.

This hotel/B&B was absolutely perfect. The owner of the property (Urszula) went above and beyond by organizing all transportation for everything we did on our 12 day vacation (Airport, Hotel, Cruise port, etc...), even through we only stayed at the property for two nights! This included organizing transportation for other family members that were not with us at the hotel. Urszula made our trip perfect!

Warm Hosts Make Residenza Gens Julia a Top Pick
The building is older but location is excellent across from the Torre Argentina and within a kilometer of the Pantheon. The best feature was owners Ursula and Renato-- definitely the friendliest and warmest hosts among any we encountered on our multi-city two country tour of Italy and Greece. They made us feel instantly at home and welcomed us to take advantage of a fantastic breakfast, refrigerated drinks and coffee (available 24 hours) plus great restaurant recommendations. The three of us had a split room with two bathrooms allowing a great deal of privacy and spaciousness. It's not a five-star modern luxury building but we loved the classic character and the service we received. Highly recommended!

We got this place for its location, and we were not disappointed! Ursula, the woman that took care of us was amazingly nice and super helpful in surprising my wife for our anniversary. She took care of restaurant bookings, car pickups. Just awesome customer service. The room was massive, w/ 2 full bathrooms, quite large for Europe. Great deal! Highly recommended!!

Excellent B&B with five-star management !
We liked everything about our stay - warm welcome, great location, spacious and very clean room, good breakfast. We ordered a transfer from and to the airport, the driver Alexandro always arrived in advance and gave us a smooth ride. We prepared for our journey, but the recommendations of restaurants that we received in advance from Ursula, and a short orientation during check-in from Renato were very useful for discovering and enjoying the city. Ursula and Renato are warm and kind people who allowed us to feel more like family members than just guests.

Excellent Stay in Great location
We absolutely loved Residenza Gens Julia. We stayed in the family room room that had 2 bedrooms, each with their own sitting area and bathroom and a shared hallway space. Our rooms had the most magnificent view of the ruins where Julius Caesar was associated, which was such a nice surprise. The hosts were the most friendly, helpful and gracious hosts I've encountered. We arrived in the morning and they had our rooms ready for us, offered us a wonderful breakfast and spent time making recommendations of where to go and eat in the area. They even made our last night special with a surprise treat of Prosecco chilled in a wine bucket with snacks and a dessert treat. The room itself was spacious and well appointed. There was a sitting area and lots of space to spread out and relax. We had everything we needed and more. We loved how close Residenza Gens Julia was to everything. It was a 10 minute walk to the Pantheon, 15 minutes to Trevi Fountain and 15 minutes to the Colosseum. The best restaurant of our trip was next door (Pasta e Vino Osteria). We were told the takeaway pizzo shop right outside the entrance was very good by several people but we never gave it a try.

Our home away from home! Immaculately clean, roomy and well located--a short walk to all the sights. We recommend them highly. The next time we are in Rome we are definitely staying here again. Our hosts were warm, welcoming, informative and above all, accommodating. We came as guest and left as friends.

Great location! Very clean. Ursula did everything she possibly could to make our stay fantastic! Breakfast was great. Room was very nice! Much bigger than most in Italy! Only downfall was that the A/C couldn't keep up with the Roman summer. In their defense it was 90-100 degrees while we were there. Otherwise couldn't ask for anything more!

We absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed in a triple room and it was perfect for my daughter (8 years old), sister in law, and me. The room overlooked Largo Torre Argentina, which was fun in the evenings. Renato and Ursula were absolutely delightful, and so sweet when my daughter had a stomach ache - they brought her medicine to help her feel better before flying home. We're so excited to stay again next year on an upcoming trip!

Ursula and Renato are awesome!!!! They made sure everything was perfect. They had great advice on where to eat, what to see, etc. Every morning we were treated by their infectious smiles and kind words! They made our stay better, as we were treated like family rather than customers. I am visiting Rome again in May with my daughter, and we will be staying here with Ursula and Renato! I would not stay anywhere else!

Absolutely fantastic accommodation, location and hosts. On arrival the hosts greeted warmly, carried our luggage up and offered us drinks and snacks. Allowed an early check in to the most amazing room you could wish for. Decor typically Italian and view of where Julius Caesar was assassinated, with table and chairs looking over to it. Bed & shower superb, nice touches like scented toilet paper and fresh roses in towells. Breakfast was collected from buffet in kitchen on a tray and taken back to our room. Cannot fault anything.

We stayed 2 nites in this lovely residence, a very warm and welcoming atmosphere , attentive and caring staff. Breakfast was very nice but the noise from the street can be an issue in the rooms facing the ruins. Location is great, and very central to many sights, restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend , but perhaps a room facing the back would be better.

This has to be the best small guest house in Rome. A wonderful location next to the ruins of Largo Argentina, big comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast. But above all, charming,friendly hosts who make you feel like part of the family.

Urszula and Renato were fabulous hosts who welcomed us warmly and went above and beyond to help make our stay comfortable. Our suite was the Diana and it had a great view of the Torre di Argentina ruins and the cats of the sanctuary built in to the side. Spotless and comfortable room, great bed and sitting area by window like a small balcony. Excellent daily breakfast from 8 - 10 to get from lobby with kitchenette with fresh pastries, cheese, yogurts, fruit, salami or other sliced meats, selection of coffees from the DeLonghi machine, teas (coffee, tea, cookies available any time.) The Residenza is centrally located near Piazza Navona to be within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants in the Trastevere area. All the reviews are spot on— Urszula and Renato give great advice for touring and dining out. Request something, and they deliver. This was a highlight of our stay in Rome and we will definitely stay with them again. The only thing was a little noise at night from the street below; the view was worth it, however! They even gave us some Prosecco and pistachios as a thank you for staying with them, which was a thoughtful touch.

We had the best long weekend staying at Residenza Gens Julia. The hosts were so welcoming and lovely, the hotel was spotlessly clean and the location was excellent. We walked everywhere from the hotel, to the Vatican, colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Trastevere and there were plenty of shops, restaurants and gelato parlours nearby 😊 We had an internal view room, it was huge, clean, had all the amenities you needed and we loved spending time just relaxing there after a long days sightseeing. The breakfast included was lovely and there was a fridge full of refreshments to purchase if you wanted. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Rome x
