I stayed two nights in single room over Easter period. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, but I have several criticisms of the venue, stemming from how it's listed on Expedia and how it operates:
1. This is not what I call a hotel - it's a set of serviced rooms off a main corridor (in what was probably a large apartment before conversion)
2. One feature of which means that breakfast is served on a dinette trolley in your room, ordered from a menu the night before. If you order two coffees, you get two coffees, not a double. If you forget something, too bad. If you're not hungry in the morning, too bad, the food has been plated. Definitely not the best or freshest breakfast!
3. There are practically zero staff - no staffed reception during the weekend I was there (entry is via a door code provided ahead of arrival). Communication with the hotel had to be via WhatsApp, although when they weren't responsive, I also had to phone them.
During my first night, there was a persistent tapping/dripping sound from the building's internal pipework, although that might have been related to the building, rather than this property
This may well be a way to monetise property as a business, but not an experience I would repeat if I can avoid it.
