"There was no real check in desk, just a counter, no staff person or any indication it was the lobby of a hotel. A dark hallway, rugs that were frayed and looked dirty, we thought maybe we were in the wrong place. We had to call a phone number taped to the "counter" to check in. Nice staff person. Very tall stairs, and hard to carry luggage up. We knew there would be stairs, but didn't know there would be this many. The room was worn, no mattress or pillow protectors, and the "pillowcases" were actually pillow covers, like in a duvet set. The pillows were very thick and I had to use a rolled towel as a pillow instead, to avoid a crooked neck in the morning. Nothing matched, very cheerless room. The mattresses were adequate but had sharp edges and were uncomfortable to sit on. Oh my, we stayed because we had been driving all day and were exhausted, but never again. Not worth the price."
